Ode to Goblins
*****
That one fine Spring day of 101
I and six others finally one.
It wasn't easy, but not too complex
The biggest problems were the frozen flecks.
I and the others came out of thin air
To a dark dwarven tower with style and flair
The goblins and dwarves lived together in peace
Only their overlord they were forced to please.
In a high fit of humor I sent out a squad
But sadly the entire plan was flawed.
Olmi Ushpim threw out a ball
Of extract and coldness and iceflakes and all
It hit a dwarf with a staggering blow
Ripping his chest open. Blood started to flow.
That dwarf attacked and hit the beast
Who took the blow and took the least.
He took the dwarf in a straggling hold
And the dwarf became a master in fighting.
He ripped of the arm of the beast, so bold
That even the goblins started smiting.
The goblins were taken by demons like slaves
and forced to bond to their might.
But waiting they were for the time that some knaves
Would start the movement against the fright.
One marksman stood and emptied his quiver.
Another one stood nearby.
A spearman took and punctured the liver
And the maceman made fingers fly.
The miner from start that shied out of the fight
Came back from it laughing in delight.
The braver soldier, unconsious still
Was holding our expedition's first bloody kill.
A native dwarf had taken his fist
And hit the monster, though he almost missed.
The shot ran home and took the brain
And the demon fell down in a stoke of pain.
... and they chopped him up.
The miner whose chest is open slept for a while
And his courage will be greatly rewarded.
And if the humans, elves go vile
His battles won't go unreported.
In this Ode to Goblins I recite a feat
Of truth, of kindness and works
That the friendly alliance of "The Glorious Feet"
And the goblins will remain without any quirks.
On this fine Spring day of 101
we ride ahead, to the sun.
(Even though the sun kind-of irritates me, I'm using it as an expression, okay?)
