Turn 0: Introductions

Location: The King's Conundrum Tavern, Dullhaven

A young man walked down the dark street towards his favorite tavern, the small amount of light streaming out of the windows and doors of the street not giving much illumination. He looked much like any other young man in Dullhaven, except for the heirloom sword that hung at his hip, handed down to him by his father before both his parents disappeared mysteriously. Of course he wasn't old enough at the time to remember any of it, but his uncle had told him about it.

From inside the tavern he could hear song and cheer and he entered as he usually did, with a smile on his lips. Inside it was warm and bright, a fire roaring in the fireplace and the smell of roasting meat drifting out of the kitchen. He took a seat and ordered a pint of mead from Devlin, the rotund tavernkeeper.

He recognized a few people, farmer Kirkwall and his eldest son, Wade the Blacksmith, and a few out-of-towners he had seen before, sailors who stopped here to rest and resupply before heading back north. One of the sailors he didn't recognize stood out from the rest. He looked a bit smug and superior, like he just wanted someone to challenge him, but the cutlass at his side would probably scare off most comers.

In a corner, a bit out of the way, sat a pair of priests from the local chapel of Pideus, dressed in their impeccably white robes. Usually they stayed in the chapel unless they were out preaching or healing people, but sometimes a few showed up at the tavern to eat. He recognized one of them, having met him a few months prior when his uncle sprained his wrist while working on the farm and one of the priests had come to help, Brother Torir was his name.

Near the bar stood a few men dressed in the uniforms of the king's army, blue and red, with the buttons all shined up. One of them made a suggestive gesture towards a barmaid, but his superior quickly apologized to the woman and gave the soldier a stern talking-to. It was quite unusual for the king's soldiers to come all the way down to Dullhaven, since very little required their attention there, but he assumed that it was some kind of routine patrol.

In the corner furthest from the fireplace he noticed a man who really gave him a bad feeling. Dressed all in black, with a vicious-looking scythe leaned against the wall next to him, and a cold gleam in his eyes that suggested that he had done a lot of bad things in his life. People avoided that man like the plague, giving him a wide berth when they moved about in the room.

Devlin finally came by with his mead, getting a few coppers in exchange, and the young man started drinking it. It seemed like it would just be another calm night in the life of Unus Dermonster.

Environment: The tavern is filled with people. Smoke hangs in the air, songs are sung and mugs slammed together with cheer. It is getting dark outside.

Motion over a barmaid, still brooding and with a cold gleam in my eyes.

Enjoy my simple yet delicious meal of lentil soup and fresh bread while discussing my worry over Brother Eyrian being slightly late returning from his pilgrimage.

start reciting unbelievable but true tales of my adventures to others, whilst keeping an ear out for any interesting news.

Also, is "raven" the name of the ship itself, or is it the name of the ship's class?

If it's just the name of the ship's class, then Christen ship "The Bushwhacker"

Keep my men in line(in a gentlemanly manner), order tea, and discuss local goings-on with the bartender.  "Excuse me, my fine sir, could you inform me of any unusual going ons in this region?  Oh, and a spot of tea for myself, wot wot."

I have absolutely no idea what's going on in this fort any more. Migrants arrive, they die for some reason, the fort is flooded for another reason, then dwarves go mad, more dwarves die and I'm just laughing in my distress.

It was more of a placeholder name, but it being your ship and all you should be able to decide what to call it.

Yep, I'm here, and the turn is underway. I've been busy with other things and haven't been able to work much on the turn, but I'll try to get it up soon.

And how often can we expect updates?
I'm aiming for two or three turns a week.
