Interesting site (spoilers)
« on: November 23, 2010, 04:51:51 pm »

Here's a site with six adamantine space elevators. The underground is breached in two places as well. A ton of lava collapses upon embark, and there's probably a ton of other weird stuff too.

It's at http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=3462 you just need to reclaim to get the site. There will be massive slowdown initially as magma pours into somewhere. So to do anything with this, you're going to have to dedicate very many cycles. But it's unusual enough that you might want to try. And DF's single-threaded nature is a benefit here, because if you have multiple cores then you can just do other stuff while it works.

would you happen to have the seeds and world gen information?
that would be more useful for those of us who have a heavily modded game.

Nope. I didn't gen this myself. It was posted on another site, and I'm reposting it here.

I usually keep an unmodded version around for just this kind of thing.

Exerpt from townbrush.txt by Internet Kraken:

"Nobody wants to live in Townbrush, and for good reason. Almost everyone that has come to Townbrush has been eaten, stabbed, crushed, drowned, hacked, incinerated, or beaten to death with an octopre skin backpack. When we're not under siege, we're being attacked by Forgotten Beasts. And when we're not being attacked by Forgotten Beasts, there's probably a zombie whale crushing someone to death in the dining room."

You can also get the world gen via fortress mode by pressing escape, selecting export and pressing "e". However, these types of maps tend to be glitches. So even using the same world gen parameters will almost never result in the same glitched map. Sorry.
