In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Everybody has different sleep-requirements and patterns. Following those patterns, no matter when they tell you to sleep, are the basis of getting any  actuall good sleep at all. As yours does not clash with societies rules of behaviour at all, I see no reason to call them weird at all.
Besides, even if I had to judge, I'd say your routine is a lot more healthy and "natural" then whatever one the "average man" has in today's society.

Oh, and if it's your friends givining you a hard time about it, remember that even if they might get up later in the morning, the average kid your age are most likely not staying up much later than an hour or so, if they stay up later at all. If they say different, they very well might be lying about it. At least that was what it was like when I was your age, though I didn't find that out untill later. Because of the lying, and the like.

Your sleep pattern isn't weird, mine is.

My sleeping pattern is extremely chaotic, with 1-3 hour fluctuations in how much sleep I actually get, and every month or so, maybe two months, my sleeping hours flip, making me awake during the night and sleep during the day.

I get like 4-6 hours of sleep a night, period. And not by choice. I have a hell of a time going to sleep because my brain won't shut down, and then I'm up around 5am to go to work.

And I've done it for so long that it feels completely normal to me now.

My ideal day length seems to be about 24.5 hours. So, if isolated from external demands of when I need to be awake, my sleeping time slowly drifts around the clock.

My sleeping habits are all kinds of fucked up. Somedays I go to sleep at noon wake up at 8, other times I'm going to sleep at 9 pm and wakeing up at 10 am. I tend to, attempt, to get a stable sleeping habit, but once I have one SOMETHING fucks it up, I get sick, I'm forced to stay up later than I should for some reason, I get distracted while doing something, etc.

Unless it's in a holiday, I generally stay up reading/working til 2, and I wake up at 7 on weekdays, or 9 at weekends.
On weekdays I sustain myself with black coffee and blacker humour.
