Also, after that I decided against feathered mechanical birds. One fact that enables birds to pull of flying is that their feathers are light... like feathers. Metallic feathers aren't gonna work. So I hope nobody would mind if I introduce some plastic into construction?

It is looking fantastic! How big of a canvas are you using to fit all this stuff in, anyway?

These are just to train my hand on, I'm especially concerned with portraits. Well, I was going to do it with A3*, but thinking more realistically, everything's probably going to turn out pretty tiny. Maybe I should come up with some trick. I guess I'll do an A3 sketch to see for sure.

Traditionally, the "background" layer of a PC-based digital drawing program is called a "canvas" as well.

Well, being unable to come up with a good design myself, I've found a flappity robot bird on the Internet. Check it out. I think I'm going to steal this model, once I decide where to put the pilot.

Also qualifies for a robot-phoenix, too. Especially if you see its Akashic Buster attack. (for example, in this video)

Oooh, yes! Thanks a lot. I'm stealing this one too! I thought you should be able to cyborgise a bird more, but the bird anatomy worked against me.

By the way, does that video (game) use sound FX from a cartoon "Ninja Robots"? I don't watch a lot of anime, so these SFX may be used everywhere, but it seems weird.

Ninja Robots, aka Ninja Senshi Tobikage (I hate the japanese intro theme. Seriously, "Love Survivor"? This is about GIANT NINJA ROBOTS, where does love even fit here?) would probably make a good addition to the games, but to my knowledge they don't use sounds from that anime specifically. More probable is the fact that there are numerous "public domain" or "standard" anime robot sounds, which are copied mercilessly. The metallic robot sounds I've heard in several different anime are all alike, so I probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference between those of Ninja Robots or Gundam Wing, for instance.

Yeah, that's probably so... Mass-production is the thing, man!

Not going to be included into the final image. The only way I figured an eagle might combine with a pilot, without making it into a transformer. As you can see, the pilot has little space visually. I'm going to use my artist's license on that.

However, this problem is kind of solved, now I'm working on an alien alien alien.

Could I offer some suggestions for the alien? I've got quite a few... But I'll only list one for now.

Nuaexip: Hexapodal furred creatures with a set of large, well developed eyes and a set smaller, primitive eyes below those. They can use their front feet as hands.
