No, it's like hitting a bullet with a faster bullet that can track the first bullet.
It's like destroying a bullet with any one of a number of faster, guided, tracking explosive bullets.

So it's not like bullets at all.

So, if it's so easy... how come it doesn't work?

A Tomahawk is accurate to a few feet. A warhead might be a foot in diameter. Do the meth.

I think the tests work, IF you are told in advance the exact trajectory of the missile (to within feet, of course).  So if your enemies are kind enough to tell you the exact trajectories and angles of their missiles before they fire them...

The thing is, they fly very fast.  It is possible to do the calculations, but usually, by the time you've sensed them, it's too late.

Do the meth.
Please don't. Honestly, if you're going to do drugs, you could at least do one that doesn't seem specifically designed to destroy your life.

It's not entirely clear what you're saying in that post, though...

South Korea has six batteries of Patriots (48 launchers, 192 missiles) and twenty four batteries of Hawks (600 missiles). Both of these systems can engage incoming missiles, the Patriot being a purpose-built system and the Hawk being adapted to the role. And as much as Leafsnail likes to insist things don't work because just knows so...

It does.

Dare to try again a few dozens real missiles, most of them decoys?

There really needs to be a video game that opens with this line.

I mean as in, whether he's saying it'd be possible or impossible to hit a missile in midair.

It's possible, but not guaranteed. The failure chance is mitigated somewhat by the fact that for the warhead, it's a bullet hell version of IWBTG.
