I have absolutely no idea what's going on in this fort any more. Migrants arrive, they die for some reason, the fort is flooded for another reason, then dwarves go mad, more dwarves die and I'm just laughing in my distress.

Tell someone there is a guy in a funny costume who gives people money if they stab him with a pencil in the hallway, then run away as they are being eaten.

All right. Let's listen to the only voice of reason, and go talk to Sarah. I'll just announce there's a demon outside that we should flee from, and..

She'll think I'm crazy. Which I might be. So, at this point, I can: Tell it to her as straightforward as possible, get her to go look very cautiously, or try and lie to her. Actually, come to think of it...

...I'm freaking out a bit. I didn't realize this before, but my heart is hammering in my chest in a motion best described as a flagellate. It's like a team of Morris dancers forced into an eggnog fueled tarantella.  So, should I proceed to freak the fuck out and let everything out, hyperventilate a bit to calm down a bit but keep going, or just shrug it off and have a nervous breakdown later? If I do either of the first options it will delay the conversation with Sarah a bit, but I think I could live with that. For now. Since it's not chasing me. I think.

Hyperventilate, then tell her as straightforward as possible before getting her to go look and make sure you're not crazy.

"Sarah, this is going to sound crazy, but there's a big freaking thing out in the hall eat someone."

"No, seriously. Look, just peek through the door. Really. Quietly."

Robert succeeds at a charisma check.

Sarah looks out the door. I take a moment to reflect on the moral choices I have made in my life.

Bad thing fails a spot check. Again.

I think Sarah is convinced we have a problem. She doesn't scream or anything, but she's looking a little shaky. Which, all things considered, is to be expected. Cue a hushed conversation.

"Robert?"
"Yeah?"
"What in the hell is that?!"
"Um. Something demon-like."
"What is it doing here?!"
"Look, calm down. We can get out of this."
"How?!"
"Well..."

This is the theater arts class without any funny angle shots so you can see the whole thing. There's a desk on the stage, a knee high filing cabinet and a blackboard on rollers with yellow chalk up on the stage. The tech booth is pretty secure except I don't have the keys and it's got a big glass window that's just begging to have bad things jump through it. And there's the prop rooms. And people's book-bags left in the room, too. Time to enact some sort of brilliant escape plan.

Go into the prop rooms and see if you can find anything weapon-like, blunt or otherwise. maybe there are some fencing swords or something.

Stick head out the door, point off in the distance and yell "Holy shit! There's a Black Templar over there!"

Rummage through the book bags.

Stick head out the door, point off in the distance and yell "Holy shit! There's a Black Templar over there!"

Do as hubris said.

A quick look around for something...anything useful can't hurt. Ah. Here we are. A phone.

Phone get!

Dial the police, and report a school shooter. Simple enough. Gotta sound panicked when they pick up.
"Hello?! There's a kid with a gun running around the hallway!"
"AKUTCH HATKCH CHUCAHNK FEKCH!"
"Damn it!"
So much for that idea. Phones give me demonic chanting. I really should have expected that with all my spiffy genre-savageness. That deserves a facepalm.

Ow. Now my face hurts. This is like one of the worst days of my life. Well...may as well see what else I can do. Hmm.
See if you can rig up a falling light trap using the stage light.

I don't have the slightest idea where to start with this one. Let's just abscond to the prop room.

Right. Find a weapon, is it? There must be something in here...

Take the sword, feeling bad because you didn't see it in the first place.

This obvious sword I should feel bad for dismissing immediately is obviously made out of the flimsiest and cheapest plastic China could ever import, and they didn't even have the decency to make ten percent of it out of lead. This thing would literally fall apart in my hands if I swung it with any force whatsoever and I could probably rip it apart effortlessly. At a rough estimate for effectiveness I would put it a little under "Damp rolled-up newspaper" but above "Bouquet of daisies."

Good try, though.
