My character has three arrows stuck in him and I do not know how to remove them. please tell me this vital peice of information.

A thing to note: Pulling out projectiles causes pain and bleeding, probably forcing you to pass out. Make sure you're safe first.

Actually, here's two questions.

1, do the arrows cause any problems if left in?
2, do the arrows provide any additional protection against attacks?

pulling an arrow out causes minor bleeding and pain. if someone wrestles you with an arrow lodged in you they can twist it to cause more pain.
plus pulling them out yourself is ultra mandwarfly.

Leaving the arrows is even more dwarfy as you have a few extra projectiles if needed. Also, who wants to fight a guy that goes to battle with arrows sticking out of himself? No one

Actually that would just make them a more attractive target. My blood lust is attracted to weakness.

I think they can get infected if not pulled out, and the infection can kill yuo.  However, it probably resets the chance of infection when you do overland travel, so this might not be a big deal- not sure.

The dwarfly thing to do is to leave them in and charge at the next foe, weapon raised high... and throw it at them. Then, yank out the arrows and start using them as your melee weapon instead.

I just got the genesis mod and I was walking to a bandit camp when all of a sudden a arrow whizzes by and gets lodged in my left testical. I decided to keep it there for good luck and then collected the phalluses of my fallen foes, until my left nut got infected.

Ow! 
That's a low blow. Not manly.

But you're right, it should probably be changed to make it more realistic.
Incidentally, were you playing a female character when you tested this?
