So those Bogeyman...
« on: November 21, 2010, 01:53:59 am »

Pretty cool, I think, the whole cackling and evil and it's dangerous to go alone stuff... They actually seem pretty managable for a new guy if you're careful though, or am I just lucky?

On the other hand, they seem to have an annoying tendency to kick me in the chest and bruise vital organs like the heart or the lung... (The former got an adventurer of mine I'd grown attached to, though I actually managed to survive and recover from the latter, despite it bringing up the "Mortal Wound" label-thing... Is that supposed to work that way?)

Last week I found a bridge that ended short of a river crossing, effectively making it useless.

Name of the bridge? The Bridge of Swimming. Cheeky bastards those humans.

Just a teeny tiny bruise to your lung will make the "Mortal Wound" pop up.

With enough skill, luck and a silver hammer you can one-shot them by jamming their skull through their head.

They're suprisingly easy to one-shot given any degree of luck.

Just aim for the head with anything, pointy or otherwise, and wait until your chance of hitting is written in green.

It's not an embark so much as seven dwarves having a simultaneous strange mood and going off to build an artifact fortress that menaces with spikes of awesome and hanging rings of death.

Actually, with a reasonable (3 levels or so) biter skills, you'll be able to one-shot them 90% of times. It's just:

*Bite lower body*
-You shake the Bogeyman by the lower body with your right front tooth, and the severed part sails off in an arc!
-The bogeyman has been struck down.

Oh, and for some reason it is considerably difficulter to behead them with this. I guess they have really thick necks.

The buggers are, to my experience, mostly extremely hard to hit, and they have a very easy time getting excessively lucky shots on you. Once you're a decent fighter, reasonably fast, and skilled with your weapon of choice, you'll be able to take them on properly. But otherwise, it's just way too easy to keep missing while they casually punch your heart to jelly.

Not a troll, not some basement-dwelling neckbeard, but indeed a hateful, rude little person. On the internet.
I'm actually quite nice IRL, but you people have to pay the price for that.

Now stop being distracted by the rudeness, quit your accusations of trollery, and start arguing like real men!

On the bright side as long as you have armor they seem to have a hard time causing permanent nerve damage.

My adventurer has finally reached the point where he can stab them to death nice and fast with his spear but for a while there I was coming out of fights with them covered in heavy bruises.
