Well, if taken within the context that hobby was being used; it was being used in contrast to Notch professionalism. Therefore in the given statement; hobby doesn't mean profession.

I was countering this statement, by demonstrating that Toady hobby is where he derives his finical income and therefore within the given context, was not a hobby.

The contrast was in where they gained their fame. Toady was a hobbyist when he created Dwarf Fortress. Notch was a professional game developer when he started Minecraft.

MC is better than adventure mode, but less good than fortress mode. Once adventure mode crafting is in, I expect this to change.

In seriousness, I think DF is better but I've played minecraft more recently. MC needs less time investment, you know?
