My newest adventurer (31.18) had the delight of having an arrow hit him in the leg hitting the motor nerve and he couldn't walk anymore. So I went to a town to pick up a crutch. I selected the crutch, I selected what I was going to trade for it and hit (t). A message came up indicating that the trade had been completed and sure enough the item was removed from my inventory and his... only the crutch wasn't put into my inventory. I looked all over and it was nowhere to be found. I tried buying something else just to test this and it seems that in every trade the item does not appear in my inventory although the shop keeper takes an item from me. This sounds like a bug. Or am I just missing something?

the trade items dont appear in your Inventory, you have to pick them up.
look around the shop for something without $-marks around it, be shure to look in containers, too.

Also some tables are crowded with items so watch carefully. If you don't trust shopkeeper you can take items first then pay for them.

Also, if there are a bunch of items in a tile you can only see every item on the ground by selecting to [g]rab when on that tile, because it's impossible to scroll down while [l]ooking since it will keep taking

• to mean "move 10 tiles north" instead of "scroll down". Which I've oddly never seen in the bug report.

You *probably* just missed the item. Sometimes I need to go over the shop more than once to find an item.

Maybe the item was at the bottom of the stack, i spent 5 minutes looking for a low boot only to find it on the bottom of the stack in front of me.
