Crutch question.
« on: November 20, 2010, 03:14:14 am »

So, in a battle with a large bandit camp, I lost a leg, and made it out alive, and had a crutch on hand. I've put the crutch in my right hand, but I still can't stand up?

How do I stand up again? If I need two crutches I may be out of luck, as one of my hands doesn't work.

That should work - have you tried removing anything else you have in that hand?

Nope, nothing else is in the hand. I've tried all manner of putting into bags, taking it out, dropping it, picking it back up, nothing seems to work.

Hm, you are pressing s to stand up, right? It doesn't happen automatically.

Yep, hitting s to stand up, nothing happened. Although the adventurer just died, so I suppose it's worked itself out.  :P

Try putting it in the other hand. Then stand. If your left leg is gone you have to use it in your left hand.

Crutches may not work in Adventure mode.  There are a number of special-case scenarios awarded to Fort mode dwarves that adventurers can't pick up on, and the ability to walk on a crutch may be one.

They work. I can confirm this.
But they will be of no use if you don't have one working leg.

So if you lose both legs you're doomed to crawl ?

*looks at username* Sorry mister Pirate, no peg leg for you. It's probably because dwarves have yet toencountere any sea faring sculley wags in all their years so that solution hasn't crossed their minds.

It works with either hand for my lame-legged adventurer. :/
