It happens. It can happen from a variety of reason: your path could be broken, you could have lost the stuff in a flood, etc.

A broken path in and of itself could happen from a lot of things.

you wanna see spam? really? get yourself a few wounded dwarves (the more the merrier). chasm all your buckets. enjoy the drop in framerate from all the spam.

you want even more spam? build a bunch of crossbows. make them into crossbow traps. neglect to build any bolts to put into the crossbow traps. enjoy the game grinding to a halt.

Yea, that's not the worst of things.
Try making tons of crossbow weapons traps and never keep any bolts. That's always worth a cry.

Under the "o" menu you can reduce the number of job cancellations you see.

Yeah, but I want to see SOME of the job cancellations, but not these fucked up spammy ones.
Someone should make a mod, or there should be a bloat about this ; making it so you can set custom job cancellation messages appear/not appear.

That would be sweet!
But until then, I hope to god I can find whatever the F**K is causing this S**T, AND MAKE IT STOP!!!

i think what DF really need is for tasks that fail repeatedly to suspend like building construction but for a finite amount of time.

Yeah, it would be nice if my mechanics would find something better to do once they realize there aren't any cages left for the cage traps.  Being able to suspend trap construction or operation would be helpful too.

In fact, it would be nice if BUILDINGS only suspended themselves for a limited amount of time, like, say, half a month?  While I appreciate dwarven self-preservation in all its forms to the extent of which it exists, there's nothing as annoying as trying to find the random door to a bedroom that was suspended because the 'laboring' dwarf saw an elephant outside on his way back from fishing.

Oh, and when a hauling task is cancelled due to danger, it should also cancel other nearby tasks (via tempory suspension, of course).  This would greatly help to prevent the typical dwarven supply line carrying (TRYING to carry...) goblin mittins from fallen goblins in the middle of a siege.

Yeah, it would be nice if tasks got suspended automaticaly as well,
as appossed to spamming failed messages...
