A lot of times in towns and villages, a house or shop will have a bunch of citizens inside, and quite often one of them is standing in the door. When they're asleep you can just walk over them, but how can you get them to move the hell out of the way without killing them?

Use the s key to crawl under them

Indeed, crawling is the way to go. This may be the only way to get equipment or money from shops after trading, if a shopkeeper is standing on top of the square you need.

You've got it wrong. S is sneaking, s is crawling.

It is annoying, But im sure they will make them less crowded once they add in familys and such. Besides, If you get the anger urge while forced to crawl under them, You can always just chop them down.
