So, after three years the fortress is finally being started by seven six dwarves? I like the way it's going.

I'm going to wall off the top of the fortress and make a new entrance for caravans and migrants.  The above can serve as a ruin and to make our enemies think that we have all left, while we labor in the heart of the mountain.

But can't you at least use my elaborate magma-trap and meeting hall? :( It kind of sucks to know that the only thing you did for the fortress was get everyone killed...

Yes.  That meeting hall is pretty awesome.  I can't figure out the magma trap though.

And really, you managed to save the few dorfs we still had.  So, don't feel bad at all.  When I started, there were FIVE ambushes in a row, so I have a lot of sympathy for you making it at all.

Okay.

Turn is over.  I'll have a writeup tomorrow or sunday.

Overall, we're doing a *lot* better.  Dariush, you are the Prophet of Darkness, and the old dining hall is your sanctuary.  You led us back into the mountain from the outside world, so the goddess of darkness recognizes how you led the way.

We have a beginning of a military.  A sortie against the 5 goblin ambushes left 2 dwarves dead and 1 wounded, but there are far less goblins out there.  I think we killed about 3 or 4 to 1, so I'm happy.  I was about to build a well before spring hit. 

There's a moody blacksmith who needs some stuff, but he just went, and I think we have it all once the blocks he wanted are made.

The fortress is way different.  Pretty much everything on the top is in the process of being abandoned, because the goddess of darkness was angry that we lived so close to the light.   The only entrance is the trade depot, which is hotkey f1.  There's a lever controlling a short bridge to control access.  You can't miss it.

Also, the fortress is vulnerable to flyers, because the main staircase is accessible to the sky.  I exported *nothing* but dead dwarf clothes, so you may have awhile on a siege, but gobbos on swallows will rampage our fort.

Awesome Bayar.

The well is by the farms.  All you need to do is dig into the wall that held the farm reservoir.  If you can wall it up while there's still some water in there, the magic ice to 7/7 water trick will give us an unlimited supply i think. 

A well is important, because we have wounded.
