Loincloth challenge, 2010 edition
« on: November 18, 2010, 04:04:58 pm »

SO... we all know how to survive with 10 layers of chainmail, five chain hoods under a steel greathelm, with a sword in one hand and a shield in the other.  But who can survive as a half-naked savage badass from a Frank Frazetta paperback cover?  I present to you the loincloth challenge.  Here are the rules:

1) No body armor.
2) Dress in as few clothes as possible; if it is not cold out, you should be wearing no clothing on your lower or upper body but a loincloth or a thong, and go bare-chested (women can wear a bra or shirt if they must for reasons of modesty).
3) Any boots, gloves/gauntlets and helmet are allowed... I found that even with an awesome character it is too easy to have a foot or hand mangled, so I figure these should be allowed.
4) Jewelry is allowed.  Bone jewelry is cool.
5) If it is very cold out, wear a cloak I guess... maybe gloves and socks are necessary too.  I think that this should be enough to keep you from freezing to death or losing digits to frostbite, but I might be wrong.  Get back to me if you find out otherwise...
6)  No meat shields!  You can have companions, but no more than one or two.  You must not treat them like meat shields, rather you must be willing to die for them; they are your blood brothers/sisters.
7)  Ranged weapons are limited to throwing, and no cheesy stuff like thrown roaches or 20x thrown handfuls of sand.  I suppose Conan or whoever might use a bow now and then, but you get the idea.  Crossbows are 10x more girly than bows.
8)  Start out as a hero, not a demigod.
9)  Don't train up by wrestling groundhogs ffs; if you have to wrestle something, make it the size of a horse or larger.

Optional 10) buy booze with your money whenever possible, even if it means missing out on an equipment upgrade from the store.

Post accomplishments here...

*  First one to kill a hydra, dragon or similar nasty while abiding these rules gets to be called Mr. Awesome for a day or two.
*  Person with the largest ear collection (you have to knock the enemy out and target their ear [bite it off if you use a blunt weapon]) gets honorary title of "Ear Taker"
*  Person to kill the most human warriors while abiding by the rules gets the title "Death Dealer"
*  Person with the snazziest jewelry adorning their naked flesh gets the title "Grim Bling Bling Master"

Dibs on Conan

Should do all this in a mod like genesis for more badassness...tons more nasties to get ya and races to slaughter.

For extra challenge and awesomness....throw away your starting weapon and only acquire a weapon by wrestling it from people in combat...

Wild, this is actually my preferred play style. Though I don't adhere to any strict sort of rules.

Find the "print screen" button on your keyboard. Usually it's to the right of F12.

Press the "print screen" button.

Open up paint (or some other, image altering program)

Paste.

Save picture (or crop if necessary).

Upload and post!

Well that didn't last long. Hercules died from getting kicked in the head by a warthog. I'd already gouged out one of its eyes too. Next roll later tonight.

EDIT: New roll, War Snarlinggeese
