Correct. Well, four labor for food/stone/glass shards/whatever your tiles give you.

By the way, what resources are usable as building materials? I assume stone is available with some tech or other, and judging from the walls glass shards do the job; is there anything else?

Glass shards are the only building material you are currently aware of.

How much population does one unit of luxuries entertain?
How much food is used for one gluttony luxury point, if possible?

Hrmm... I'll say... 5.
1 food provides .5 luxury points, so 1 excess food will entertain 2.5 population.

I am sorry, I thought this was dead.

I am away from bay12 for the next 3-5 (or more) so you may need to cut me out.

I'll play your civ as an NPC until you get back.

I would never have guessed how much work goes into making just one turn for this game. Knight_Otu, I have a new-found respect for you.

After looking over the turns, it seems I wasn't clear about how research works now; everyone gets 1 research point to spend each turn, which can spent on any available technology.

I'll let people tell me what they'd like to research for last turn and I'll change and roll for it, but I'll only for this for this turn.

There, first turn's done. I think things turned out fairly well. (except for Luke Prowler's ridiculous 99 roll for his random event...)

Dude, two posts up.

Ab, looks like you should replace my Crude Knowledge of the Essence with Discovery of the Essence.
I see one of the new techs allows you to use three glass shards as a building material, and requires ancient knowledge. Does this mean that native civs can't use glass as a building material, or do they get to do so automatically, or what? And is it still 3:1 for them?

A couple issues about the RP: First, I had intended the shrine to be more of a salon; a place for philosophical discussions and the like. There may wind up being some sort of temple next to the blood well eventually, but right now I have no real idea what it is. More generally, I don't really see the New Gralians breaking down like that. Sure, they're in a god-forsaken hellhole, but just look at all this new stuff they've got to study! You can go out for a walk and document half a dozen new species! Sure, one or two might try to eat your face, but it's a small price to pay for science! They tend to be a bit off, but it's a kind of crazy that helps to insulate them from despair.

Ah, the tech tree changed.

For the last turn, I'll have researched Discovery of the Essence then.

What does training military units require?

Quote
Stygian Survival:
  Requires Ancient Knowledge
Slightly decreases chance of negative events
Prerequisite for civil and warfare techs
Something off of this, I imagine. Assuming it takes a tech at all.
