My adventurer has a smashed-open finger. :(
I think it's infected, too... Also he has a boatload of scars.
Oh. And a missing arm. Forgot that one. :D

Me and my orc party just had a violent fight with an elf patrol (genesis) casualties on both sides, i finally reach the ringleader elf chick and she hits me in the lower leg getting an artere out of it i can't stand anymore, i try to hit her but she counterstrikes and i block, then i faint out of pain and she instantly bashes me in the skull one-hit killing me with her sun gold warhammer xD epic fight though there was so much blood everywhere and arrows/bolts

But what about splints? I've heard they can be applied in adventure mode, but I didn't find any mention whatsoever about how.

I'd also like to know if there's a way to apply splints. I've got an adventurer (which I don't want to lose) with a crippled leg and he can only stand with the aid of a crutch. Overall speed is 359 when walking with a crutch, and I also lose a hand slot to the item itself.

Man, it's WAY too easy to lose the use of your legs in the game...
Seriously, it's like: The human peasant brushes against you as he walks past.
Several nerves have been severed! A tendon has been severed!
You fall over.

I've had countless adventurers get smashed in the foot and are unable to walk and only crawl even after the wound heals. It really dampens any adventure.

Amusingly, my most successful adventurer has only one tiny scar on his lower body.  It's a relic from when he was attacked by a spear-wielding lunatic and got hit in the spleen of all things.  Fortunately both the wound and the spleen healed up, and both parts remain a delicate shade of yellow on the stats screen.  It has yet to impede him, though I suppose his immune system is now a bit weaker as a result.  I wouldn't know, I've yet to have him get hit by anything dangerous, and his stats say his immune system's pretty strong.

I principle nerves do heal. Nerves generally grow at a rate of 1mm per year, so most people can recover from mild nerve damage. Most people never recover from moderate or severe damage though. If the nerve is severed, you probably need have a good surgeon reattach it. I'm not sure what the expectation is for recovery in that case.

Not really. If you keep on killing people, you could call yourself the disabled badass.

I had almost all my body parts go yellow and red from a bear mauling, but they all healed except my hand and my foot. So now I can only use 1 thing at a time and I always crawl, I don't think I can beat enemies to oblivion with a crutch either.

Do boots and gloves affect the strike/kick damage? Now might be a good time to learn to throw, too.

Throwing is a bad ass skill and I suggest it as opposed to archery. Sometimes you can take out the big guys with a nice throw of vomit. And get a pick to throw too! It does some fierce damage.

Hm... since I haven't found any info, and no one has stepped forward, I presume for the moment that splints can't be used?

Also, what about wielding picks? Are they good for aimed shots?

I tried using a splint before but it didn't work. I tried both wielding it and interacting with it to no effect, so I assume they don't work yet. Picks have decent penetration and a high velocity multiplier, so I assume they can do some damage.
