Friends, Romaines, Countrymen!  The head lettuce of Salad Town has been slain!  He was at his ranch at the Thousand Islands, when an iceberg came down from the sky and shredded him!  Clearly this is the work of the mafia!  We tried to keep the story under wraps, but it leeked out.  We’re in a pickle here!  The police have been up day and night, really earning their celery, narrowing down the culprits of this crime, but there’s only so much they can turnip.  The lead investigator said “I yam sure it is one of these nine!”.  Each day, you will vote one of yourselves to be tossed.  Lettuce hope we will find the mafia before it is too late!  Don't let the mafia beet us!  Bring peas back to Salad Town!
