Seeing into the Future of Un-Important Stuff
« on: November 16, 2010, 08:54:40 pm »

Rarely(Like every 2-4 months) I get a small vision during my dreams. This one in question was my 7th Period teacher saying "What's 40 divided by 15?". I shit you not, I had this dream last night and it happened in 7th period.

This has happened to me before, and ITS ALWAYS FUCKING UNIMPORTANT. Do you know how frustrating it is to be able to have visions of the future, but THEM BEING UN-IMPORTANT?

Goddamn, I always get the short end of the stick.

anyway, anyone else have experiences like this.

Maybe your life is also boring and unimportant?

Maybe you dream about a lot of stuff and you only remember the extremely small proportion that happens, when it happens?

So you predicted via dream that your math teacher would ask a division problem?  That's probably the least incredible thing I've ever heard, and also the least likely to actually be psychic.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Apparently, false awakinings can be a reaction to lucid dreaming. It seems that this is to force you back into non-lucid dreaming by tricking you into thinking that you're awake and the dream is over. No idea why this happens, though.

Sounds like Deja vu to me.

I sometimes attribute bouts of deja vu to something I remember from a dream.

But it's just your head messin' with you.

Maybe keep a dream journal on the off chance that you are a prophetic dreamer, but that [dream journal keeping] can be a fun thing to do anyway.

Keep practicing! I learned how to stop time for upwards to a hour and now I have all the money I will ever need!

I learnt how to zone out everything around and zoom through the day!

Sure it kind of bites you in the ass when you find that its Sunday night and it was just Friday morning, but its rally good when you wake up a Friday morning right after Sunday night!

Sometime, when I concentrate really hard, my hands get all bloody and the sponges in my walls get ripped out and three burly men inject me with something.

They are there to destroy your soul.
