Just switched to Linux and was like: "OMG DWARF FORTRESS!" I got the Linux version but the executable won't start it up. 64 Bit Fedora if it helps.

I see you got it fixed, but for future reference, usually the Windows build of DF will run in Wine with very little speed penalty. I used to be unable to get the Linux build to work and just did this instead.

I'm used to running 30 FPS so a speed penalty won't deter me too much. Been busy playing other stuff though.

Does this mean there's a sheep-shearing skill now?

lol I'm thinking it'll probably be more along the lines of a generic shearing skill, if not just lumping it in with one of the current skills.

Animal care, presumably, especially since it's not currently used. Although it's not a farming skill... and if we already have separate 'milking' and 'cheesemaking', then 'shearing' is reasonable.

Does that mean if we steal a dragon egg it will hatch at some point and will call us daddy?

Having a baby dragon like me and fight for me. Good gods, that'd be awesome. But I'd need to keep enough meat and water on me at all times. Not to mention fuel to douse my opponents in.

I don't think fuel is really that necessary.

If you consult your .DAT files, you'll find there is no dwarf word for "necessary" ;)
