modding engraving for adventurers
« on: November 15, 2010, 09:05:15 pm »

I'd like the ability to smooth stone with adventurers -- this will allow them to enter a cave structure and NOT GET LOST.  Any advice?

You can't. Sorry. Item trails are your only viable option.

You can't smooth stone in adventure mode, but this got me thinking: You could probably make a custom reaction that creates an "arrow" item and use it as a "bread crumb trail" kind of thing, or perhaps four different items so you've got an "arrow facing North," an "arrow facing South," and so on for East and West. Maybe it'd be a grouping of pebbles arranged into an arrow, so the reaction takes a few pebbles and turns them into this arrow object (and another reaction could take any of the arrow items and turn it back into pebbles). However, I'm not sure if items you leave out like would stay where you left them indefinitely.

I put the idea of chalk/charcoal sticks in suggestions then.
