what are the customs restrictions for posting to the US?

I know the obvious; no perishables, drugs or banned substances, sharps, etc. Are there any less obvious things i should know about?

Not really. Common sense is about it.

Certain states have their own restrictions on what type of weapons/knives/plants/fruits/drugs/animals are allowed inside, but as long as you don't send of of that, you'll be fine.

EDIT: For example, California banned sword-canes. Swords hidden in walking canes. If they catch you with one or importing one, they will confiscate it and fine you. I am disappointed.

Not all are sent yet, there's a few held back because I'm waiting for addresses from people who said "I want in!" but then are currently at unreachable addresses because of school... etc.
