Yet you don't see me taking a train up the mountains to go camping.

I wouldn't take an SUV either. :P
(That said, I have been camping on a boat, soooo)

Freak2121: How did you do that?

“Well,” he said. “We’re in the Forgotten hunting grounds I take it. Your screams just woke them up early. Congratulations, Lyara.”
“Do something!” she whispered, trying to keep her sight on all of them at once.
Basileus clapped his hands once. The Forgotten took a step forward, attracted by the sound.
“There, I did something. I clapped. I like clapping,” he said. -The Investigator And The Case Of The Missing Brain.

following around the map-movement
start adventure mode after you exported the map, press connect, press follow. Move around.

and printing it in a single picture that is
Frequent alt+prntscrn and an image editing program (GIMP, photoshop - you'll probably don't want to use paint).

How difficult would it be to allow for more options for viewing?  I've been fiddling with the simple topographic view from legends maps, and I'd love to be able to change the camera angle (presumably the more camera freedom the more difficult?) and more importantly show more of the world at a time - I've got this little square of terrain, taking up almost 20% of my screen and it would be awesome to see more at once.  Even better would be an option to zoom in/out as well, to see the whole world in miniature...  [I can see your house from up here...]

TL;DR - awesome work, would like to see even more from bitmaps.

Maybe an oversized_refined texture pack? That would be nice. Or just a zoom feature, so the size of the texture pack is irrelevant.

You can change the amount of the world viewed in the ini file, actually.

I did this, and it was awesome (view area:  150 by 150, minimap 256 by 256) - and two suggestions to help lazy newbs experience the artifact visualiser that isoworld is:

1) add a drop-down menu in the visualiser to set these properties, instead of having to edit a text file with a potentially scary extension (normal for DF/DF utilities, but intimidating to newcomers)

2) enable some kind of support for the utilities tab of the LNP.  If players are adding it themselves, this is less important - but isoworld deserves to be included in the next version of the LNP, and a way to trigger it from the GUI is essential for that (and also useful for ease-of-use, of which I am a big fan).

Sorry for the suggestion-spam, thanks for the awesome, and hopefully these ones are easier to implement!

This is an image of a human, a map, and a CPU.  The human is laughing.  The map is exceptionally well designed.  The CPU is crying.  The image relates to the rendering of "The Plane of Dimensions" in the year 2013

Yeah, the GUI stuff is still mostly unfamiliar and strange to me, so I'm still learning all of it.

Oh my Armok, the mental images... They are glorious...

I would also like to thank you for the new features, Japa. These new images are great to show people who aren't familiar with DF just how awesome the world generation is! Seriously, you rock :)

Whenever I hit connect, I get the following errors:

Code: [Select]
calling an unbound RPC function: isoworldremote::getembarkinfo
calling an unbound RPC function: isoworldremote::getrawnames

I have DFHack r3 installed to the DF folder, I have it open in adventure mode... What am I doing wrong?

There's a hack folder in the Isoworld directory. I copy that onto your dwarf fortress folder.

My visualizer isn't showing towns/structures. Yes, I imported structural...

EDIT: False alarm. It would appear my world has a grand total of two human cities, no necromancer towers or any other structures. Weird.
