Things I still need to do before I feel comfortable releasing:
*Make trees actually green, not wood colored.
*Make trees more than one pixel big.
*Water changing color with depth
*Tilesets effecting rendering
*Saving and loading tiles

uhmm...
is there a way to have the full map and 'print' it with a printer?
...
roads, cities, forest and mountains...plus a print...

Instant wallpaper. Literally plaster it across every wall in your house.

Have your sanity questioned no longer... In style!

I'm wondering, will you be able to zoom to different levels at some point?

you kinda can at the moment, but more than what's already there is very unlikely.

To expand upon that, here's the different tilesets I currently have.

*Make trees more than one pixel big.

Sure you wanna put energy in this? Considered next release will be the end of 1-tile trees.
That... is a good point. Though I still need to do the rest.
Probably also ought to knock off the "make them green" thing for now, since multi-tile trees will have foliage and trunks separate, and presumably only the foliage ought to be green.

if the screen could be saved with the tileset currently used in .bmp, then it would be easy to print it afterwards.
A sort of print-screen related only to the application use, but it would need a 'world-view' of the entire thing in tileset.

pressing F5 does take a screenshot, but screening the whole world is more complicated, because videocards can't generally handle 25kx12k images, which is what size a full pocket world would be, what to speak of a full normal sized world.

I see the problem.
Cutting it down would probably require tinkering on 'fusing' together different pieces of the same 'type'.
like, if you have four squares of forest one next to the other, you merge them in a single one for the printing. That would bring forth an all new amount of problems though...

One could possibly take smaller pictures, and then assemble them together. Rather than a 'full-image' a set of smaller ones? Like 'Square 1' 'Square 2' 'Square 3' and so on that could all be dumped into a single folder. Then one can print them one after the other, attach them together and...
Wallpaper is done.

I am no expert but couldnt you devide and conquer? So if you take hit F5 the program subdivides the map into sections, processes them, and then glues them back together when the data is written on the HDD.

Loving what you're doing with this program so far. Plus, the suggestions for saving the whole worldmap sounds similar to what I think goes on when you save screenshots of the map in Stonesense. As long as it doesn't make a processor wince, I think I can wait out a rendering for a whole map.
