If you have DFHack installed and working, there's nothing you have to copy anywhere.

What does the log say?

It would be lovely to have a detailed tutorial for people who have never used dfhack at all. Just assume we're 5 years old.   ;D

Failing to build Isoworld on OSX: First I used in_ua's linux instructions, then I built Agui from source.
(Linking libagui_allegro5.dylib fails, but if I build libagui_allegro5.a and libagui.a instead it completes succesfully...  ???)
But then if I try to use these .a library files linking of Isoworld is unsuccesfull.

Spoiler: Error message (click to show/hide)

Any ideas? Is the problem with Agui, or Isoworld?

It looks like missing allegro symbols, actually. I'm not sure which library they should be located in, but Stonesense includes many allegro libraries that you could try.

There was a typo in the siegers' campfire code. When the fires went out, so did the game.

Actually I managed to build it by linking the necessary allegro libs to agui and then using these dylibs to build isoworld. The problem is I failed fixing the dylibs to run isoworld from /hack, was only able to run it from /df, and only on 10.7. When trying to test my build on 10.9 I get a missing symbol error in libstdc++.6, even when explicitly using your stdc++ dylib to build against. If you have some time to look at it, I pushed the commits to my isoworld fork on github.

Did you use clang to build allegro/agui?

Try as I may I've never been able to get Isoworld to connect to DFhack; right version of DF, right version of DF hack. Run Isoworld, connect and follow... Nothing. Pretty much in the same boat as Alphawolf29, i.e. I have little clue as to what I'm doing. Really at a loss as to why it won't connect, as both DFhack and Isoworld otherwise function just fine. No error messages either. Any ideas?

Are there any messages in DFHack?

Also right version of DFHack at this point just means any version released after isoworld.

does your DFHack installation contain an isoworldremote.plug.dll in it?
Spoiler: I think so (click to show/hide)
Though it does not list in DFhack itself despite being in the folder

Try with a modern dfhack version and the plugin that comes with it.

Isoworld crashes again on startup, albeit with a different error this time:

Loading font 'isoworld/DejaVuSans.ttf'...success.
Starting main loop.

Using the most recent version of dfhack, Isoworld from https://github.com/JapaMala/isoworld, manually compiled libraries from https://github.com/jmasterx/Agui on Debian

For my attempt at thread necromancy, I offer upon thee a nice image.

And then I will ask: Hoy Japa, why are my trees covered in dandruff white, and what can I do to fix it?

That's from Isoworld not having colors for the new tree types. There's some XML files you'd need to update.
