YOU ARE ALL KOBOLDS
A tale of the cleverest, quickest, strongest and luckiest of kobolds, and of those who weren't lucky enough.
As the title would indicate, you are all kobolds. Your encampment has been hit hard lately, with many raiding parties never returning and a plague washing through the population, picking off many of your kin. The elder, with his dying breath, told you that this place has become cursed, and it is time for the tribe to move on.
As the survivors of the plague, it is your duty to find a new location and to rebuild your tribe. Little equipment remains in the camp (not that there was much before); much of it has been burned to cure it from the plague. You know of a few nearby locations from which certain equipment may be stolen.

Some clay, some water, and a roaring hot fire make for good enough dishes that the Elves would give him food for them sometimes!
After losing his mate and children to the undead, Mahtkii fled his home in search of a new life, away from the horrifying screams that echo in his dreams. After wandering for days in a haunted marsh, he came upon the rest of the other wave of Kobolds, and followed them. What had he to lose?

THE KNOWN WORLDThis map was drawn with coloured chalks stolen from a human alchemist long ago. Traditionally, only the village elder has been allowed to use them, under supervision of scouts who had information to add.
The kobold cave is in the top middle of the map, surrounded by steep, fertile hills, from which a river flows. At the base of the hills the river splits, feeding the 'big lake' to the East and flowing off far into the South-West.
In the fork of the river, a human farm sits, with a small building where the farmer lives.
A little South and a little West of the farm is a training camp. They don't usually bother the kobolds too much, since they're rookies and are quickly left behind.
In the forest to the South-West of the cave, a human village has sprung up. They cut a lot of trees.
South of the training camp a slightly larger town sits. Caravans sometimes come there from the far West.
About a day's travel to the South-West rests a human keep. The kobolds try to keep away from there, because the soldiers are well-armed and sometimes know what they're doing.
Roads connect the human settlements, and continue off to the West.
In the South-East a night-beast lives amongst gently rolling hills. It sometimes takes humans away, but it's never caught a kobold.
