I've got 12 magma glass furnaces going, churning out blocks.  This is aided by over 150 bags, so that no one will cancel due to "needs sand-bearing item" or "needs empty bag".  The problem is that now they seem to just be LOSING the bags.  I have to assume it's the bags, because I don't see how they could be losing the SAND.  Currently, I have a string of 209 cancellations in a row from the same dwarf.  The final 4 came in the second or less between when I canceled out of the Announcements screen and when I hit Escape for the menu.

What makes this incredibly amusing/annoying is that the two eastmost furnaces are simply AWASH in empty bags, cluttered up to white.  I'm just picturing a dwarf standing there, hip-deep in bags, yelling "I CAN'T FIND A BAG, BOSS!"

I've got a minor theory that this was caused by suspending jobs while dwarves were in the middle of filling sandbags.  I've made a backup, and I'll now go back in and see if clearing the queues on the furnaces and reapplying the jobs will help.

That did it, all right.  When I reloaded the game, another dwarf gave me about 50 complaints before I canceled the jobs, and now everyone's working away happily.

This might be Bug 848.  I've got a save for that, and I should be able to take care of it at some point.
