I can imagine that worldgen was created by a meteor that killed the dinosaurs (which soon became forgotten beasts). The end result looks like what happens after a water droplet lands, and became a caldera.

EDIT:
Actually, I see several summits too surrounding the southern hemisphere. I think my so-called meteor must've struck from the north.

EDIT EDIT: (EDIT)
Is it possible to export a heightmap of this location? I'd like to see a rendering of it (Terragen or similar).

Nevermind, I'll worldgen and check it out myself.

How long did it take to make? (how many rejects before gen finished?)
--(41 rejects is what I got. And it'll take awhile with the 1050 end year.)

In any case, this looks interesting enough, it should be tossed into the cookbook thread.

EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT:
Which version did you play to get this map? Because I got something completely different that doesn't hold that landmark.

I've had these before. They're pretty ince places. I had a world once where there was only one elven civ after worldgen because they were on one of those islands and the rest got wiped out.

the latest, .17d, though I was using Genesis mod, but I didn't think mods could effect world building, only civs and such after the world was already made.

I tried it in .17, still no crater lake.

EDIT: go into legends and export, then give us the images. There should be a height map somewhere.

also i ended the year at 108; not 1050, as my worldgens tend to crash if they go over 150

That shouldn't matter, since all of the geography gets handled prior to year 0.

not much can be done geographically in a thousand years, especially for a medieval-era civilization (ignore the Dutch)

Wish you could embark over the whole thing, rather than just a small patch.

your heightmap is my command. The island is clearly visible in the middle of the world.
