Anyone up to getting a Panther? I know it's inferior to T-44 but I also know a lot of people feel it was the most well-rounded tank in WW2 (other than T-34 in 1941) and worth getting for the sentimental value. Imagine a platoon of three Armok-powered Panthers penetrating enemy line!

PS: I'm still faraway from Panther, stuck at Pz.Kpfw IV at the moment, but it'd be nice to grind for it together.

I have it, and it's a good tank, but mostly horribly missused.It's like a speedy version of the tiger, or a turreted Jpanther, you have nice firepower and great accuracy and speed, but you really aren't that durable, so the best tactic is hanging back and taking shots at people that are too busy to notice.

yea. used effectively they are the most annoying bastards ever.

I have lost one too many IS-3 to annoying Panthers side shotting me then running right back behind cover before i can turn my attention to him 300 meters away Panther gun does like 20% dmg to the side of a IS-3 :/

i dont know if ill go t-44 or Panther, both have some great penetrating and damaging guns. I heard T-44 is great at knife fighting and that panther isnt, but panther has better accuracy and is german so it has that whole german engineering thing going for it ^_^.

alright guys im getting my final upgrade for my IS-3 which one should i get....
I already have vertical stabilizer, and tank gun rammer

the third upgrade im thinking at getting is between these 3...
improved ventilation (5% crew crew skill increase) 600k
Spall Liner (-15% explosive dmg) 500k
Enhanced gun laying drive (+10% to aiming speed) 500k

Now the improved ventilation would give me faster aiming speed, turning, accelleration, reload, by 5%, however the spall liner i think might save my life countless times with random arty hits and damn small tanks pot shotting me at 300 meters with HE and whittling my health down slowly.

So I have a Panzer III now, and im so confused. I can never get anymore than 40xp a game. I eaither get killed by SPGs or larger tanks, before I can do anything. I am wadehampton in-game btw.

The PzIII is a nice little tank, but it suffers from tier4 syndrome (tending to end up in battles with lots of tier7-9 heavies) as well as the added handicap of rather shitty weaponry. Due to it's fairly heavy armor it should fare well against same tier or below, you just need to choose targets carefully.

By the way, for those who haven't noticed yet, everyone will get 500 gold per day (instead of 150) for the next two weeks as a "christmas present".

scout, just scout and do more scouting, scout everyone out in the early game and if you survive help your team scout ahead of its main force, you got 50/50 split of the dmg the enemy receives for payout if you do this!
If you get the first scouting of the team for a majority of the team you should get around 700+ exp.

If you scout out a heavy tank many tiers above you and another heavy tank on your team kills it youll be looking at 1,000+ exp payout and youll be out of that pz 3 in no time.

very important to scout with it and have multiple tanks to quickly scout and die in to keep your credit/ xp income constantly coming in.

Tier 3 and 4 is a monster for most players. its really hard to survive. But you have speed and as the germans used to say "Speed is Life" in armored warfare. never slow down for shit.
 
Tier 5 is where things start to distinguish themselves between nations I like to think. either faster, heavier armored, or bigger gun, germany goes the heavier armored area from the pz 4 onward.

PZ 4 is... an ok tank i guess fully upgraded but its slow turning, slow moving and all around a giant hunk of garbage if enemy gets close enough to you. Atliest your pz 3 can do some knife fighting and circle the enemy before it dies.

The pzIII is awesome, especially with a fully upgraded engine. I find that sometimes you seem to end up in a game full of IS-3s and are the only light tank, in which case you can't really hope to do any damage so you're much better off just zipping off to the enemy and kamikaze scouting them all. Other games, when there are mediums or more SPGs, you can hide in a bush and ambush mediums or get around the enemy to take out arty if you want kills.
