I just got to the IS-7

Went into battle, killed half the enemy team

and did you make much money though?

the tier 10 tanks i hear are ridiculously hard to make money with i hear.

its closed but its easily gotten into, just have to get a code from various sources to get into it.

Shouldn't be those, other multiplayer games run fine. From what I've seen on the forums its a known problem involving to many people for the server to handle. We'll see if the condition improves after the soft wipe as I assume that they'll have increased capacity by then.

for anyone that keeps trying to talk to me in the bay 12 chat, i have been chat banned for a week.

apparently there are some crybaby community moderators all over the World of Tanks game now, cant even laugh in their face for destroying half their team ^_^

so i cant chat in game, in the bay 12 room, or in the platoon chat or anything, sorta annoying but oh well, regular games dont use chat for teamwork anyways.

if you guys wanna have a 1 sided chat and platoon up with me im all up for it, i will answer questions with my gun side to side is no, up and down is yes ^_^

I figured out what's been bothering me with this game: Self Propelled guns are too accurate.

Artillery, as a general rule, can't hit with the same precision as a sniper rifle. So why does it in this game?

Because also as a general rule, the ratio of artillery to targets is several to one (meaning a player would reasonably be assigned a few guns) and aren't anywhere near the battlefield. To make them enter the battle as tanks properly, they needed a serious accuracy buff to do jack shit. A reasonable nerf though, would be to do something to curb their intel-omniscience.

Yes. Because currently, if they can see you, they can kill you. Unless you're in a light tank and can weave and bob.

Or any tank, haha. Part of the reason people hate arty is they don't give you something clear the fight against, but they're not an I-win button.

SPGs aren't the artillery you guys are thinking of. They're motorized versions of the anti-tank guns, which were stationary guns that had to be towed around if moved. If anything, they should be considered very very short range artillery/support fire.

Not really. They were indirect fire artillery weapons, and they did not have very very short range. The game maps puts these vehicles well inside the minimum range for their real world counterparts, which they've solved by messing with the shell ballistics (just look how fast those shells drop back to the ground). In reality these guns would never be able to do indirect fire within 1000m at best, ideal range would be several km. They did equip them with AP shells though, but those were only used for last-ditch direct fire.

What you're describing is really the tank destroyers like Marder II, which indeed was just a regular direct-fire antitank gun bolted on top of a Panzer II chassis

The game does make them very silly, yes. Which is why they should be considered some ultra short artillery. The average range for the 105mm howitzer firing anti-tank shells is like 7km. I don't remember if the game has M40s, but those fire anti-tank shells up to 22km.

But they're still the very same anti-tank artillery that were towed. The thing is, I suppose people think of modern tanks way too much when talking about their precision. WW2 tanks normally would either be mobile against infantry and light targets and stationary against other tanks. People put them in a ditch, even if man made, camouflaged them, and waited for moving tanks to shoot. The artillery, on the other hand, would be used when said tank nest was found and throw in a barrage of shells.

Must be extremely scary to be around such place after a marker shot lands. >.>

so artillery was nerfed in the last 2 months to be like 10 or 20% slower to get perfect shots on people.

honestly i still dont notice any difference, i can be running along at 30km/h and still get nailed by arty even though im zig zagging a bit.

and if the first shot doesnt get you , if they get within 5 meters of you with the shell from the larger artillery, you get tracked gennerally, then its all over for ya  :'(

i still get 1 shotted by the heavy SPG's regularly while running around like a raped ape. (in my heavy tanks, KV-3, IS, and my beautiful and sweet IS-3)

The most annyoing thing that can happen is when im in my A-20 speed demon with all kinds of upgrades doing 72 km/h and turning a bit and suddenly getting 1 shotted by a arty.... what the hell?

makes complete sense... :-\
