In general, that is exactly what the Russian heavy line is. They have a few exceptions, but in general they are just that.

Eh I haven't really noticed this, they may not be slow but they aren't that fast, plus they seem quite capable of taking a hit. More like brawlers.

The French seem like they are gonna be more like Flankers and Raiders, charge in, gank with autoloaders and then a RSLG(Run Screaming like Girl) Maneuver.

I can't tell for sure but I think I saw a couple of those french heavies hitting 50 KM/h (I think the IS-7 is the only Russian heavy capable of 50)

It goes something like this:
Germany-Damage over time steel walls, good RoF and accuracy makes them good for medium to long range skirmishes
USSR-Brawlers with decent armor and insanely good alpha damage, sloping and alpha makes them naturally more powerfull than other nations because of the way the game plays
USA-Still not sure about them since they vary so wildy but I think they are more of a specialist nation with each tank branch excelling at a certain attribute, hard to master but they are quite fun and dangerous once you do

The French will probably be skirmishers but instead of duking it out like germans they will probably rely on a short burst of damage before retreating for a while, not sure how this will work out but we'll see soon enough I guess :)

I'd agree with this except to say that USSR seems to get a serious speed benefit until you get into the heavies. Americans get some nice fast light tanks, and of course Germany gets the leopard and the luchs and the pz3 which is pretty quick for a medium, if a bit lightly armed, but in general all of the USSR lights and mediums are a bit fast for their tier. At least in my opinion.

Well I do, because heavies are one of the two classes I actually do somewhat well in. (Other being TDs)

Well the classification still stands, only now I can state that the US heavies focus on situational armor with some decent firepower that if used well can easily beat anything, except if you are stock, in that case you just die horribly.
Both German lines have good armor and decent speed with ok firepower, there aren't many differences between them really.
USSR varies greatly but they still have above average speed and armor sloping with pretty nice guns that are made for brawling.

TD's are mostly the same.
Germans get good armor and decent mobility with excelent guns that make them really good as a second line of a push and enables them to relocate fairly quickly if needed.
Russians are defensive ambushers with great alpha damage that lets them get the upper hand easily if they have the first shot(which in most cases they do).
US (haven't played them really) seem to be quick and mobile like the Germans up to T7 (with a few perks, hey there turrets!) then drastically drop off in mobility only to gain insane armor which makes them something similar to their heavies, very positionally based combat that lets you easily lock off an entire area of the map if you have any support.

Apparently the French are due to receive a 240 damage, 236 penetration, 10 rpm and 0.31 accuracy gun... at tier 6.

To make up for that, their tier 10 heavy must make do with 230/30/30mm of hull and 100/50/30mm of turret armor. And it oscillates so there is a second turret ring hitbox right across the middle and getting hit in either that or the normal ring cripples the turret in both directions. So depending on how much of the turret face gets the 100mm, it is at risk of being penetrated by a derp KV using autoaim.

That was an accident. One of the devs stated they are fixing that.

Yes but the IS-7 isn't at risk of being penned through everything except the upper glacis and the mantlet by a T1... cunningham.

I can't decide what I like more, medium or heavies. Mediums seem to be much more skill based because you need to flank but derp KV is so damn fun.

Of course I just downloaded 7.0 and that apparently makes it useless, so we'll see how I feel in about 20 minutes.
