The solution would be "don't go private".

Heck, the ones near me usually transfer patients over to the NHS hospital nearby when things get complicated.

Happens a lot in countries with (decent) socialized medicine. Most private hospitals have less resources than public ones, and thus have to refer their patients to them in things get out of hand. There are exceptions, of course. Some private hospitals are quite good.
