That's it, Criptfeind hasn't cast his vote.  Obviously he must die!  With righteous justice in your eyes you advance on him, backing him into the corner. 

"You'll pay for what you've done..."

Shortly thereafter, it's done. He's gone and there's nothing you can do about it. Looking through his pockets, you see his official Apprentice Card and nothing more.  It appears he was innocent. Feeling a little guilty, you head to bed. Hopefully you choose more wisely tomorrow.

Everyone comes down to breakfast the next morning and you all breath a sigh of relief. And then you count. There are only 8 of you this morning... Shouldn't there be 9? What's that? Jim Groovester is missing! Clambering up the stairs to his room, you almost run right past the smoking Jim-shaped smear on the wall, until someone at the back notices. Guess he wasn't so lucky.

Looking through his robes, you see that he was a card-carrying member of the Order of Red Sorcerers (TM), a master of Metamagic and completely innocent.  Truly a grave loss indeed.

And more bad poetry, smeared into the smudge that was once Jim Groovester:

Also, IronyOwl, lemon10, Niru Torir, and Toaster are all glowing with the vibrant hues of Life Magic.  That's weird, wonder why no one noticed that earlier?

The reason I called off my vote on Jim was that his actions only made sense for a power role. I'd hoped he had some sort of defense thing. When asked, he said he had some sort of great informational power, that he hoped to be protected in the night, and he gave me the list of votes.

It was a very interesting list.

Assuming the town apprentices voted as directed, I now see four people, of which only one is likely to be vanilla townie.

Three people voted green, and three were assigned green. One vote each was missing from red and blue. Jim was the third blue vote.

I now ask: Do I say the list, or just PM it on to one person?

(My intuition says that blue is the scum school, unless green is purposefully trying to drive me insane. It's working, by the way.)

Oh, and if Jim assigned you to assist green, but you did not for any reason, please PM me. It's important. Bonus points if you tell me which color you did assist. (I think you all voted properly, but if votes are flipped, things get strange.)

If I'm scum, and know which three people assisted the green wizard, then I'd only have 2-3 possible suspects for the remaining town sorcerer.

If two apprentices switched their assists, with one assisting green, and I don't know, then the list is mostly worthless, at least for for today.

If I'm not scum, then I've got a list of three people who are quite probably townie. Our raw chances of lynching the scum go up quite dramatically, especially considering some other interesting information that can be extrapolated from the list.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but apprentice scum get to vote so you wouldn't really narrow down the list at all, and if you did, you would end up with both of the sorcer's on the lynching list. also, is one of the sorcerers scum? or are all of them townie (or is it unknown)

Honestly, yes.

And I would point out, if he had three supports and was killed, wouldn't that mean that the other three-support school is the scum one? Maybe I don't understand the rules fully.
