Please do post here, heh. Steam and this computer don't agree with each other (and I'm too lazy to find out why), so I can't really do anything with th'DFC. S'a shame, but thems the breaks.

As for time, any day not tuesday or thursday (for the next few months, anyway) is good for me. Time of day isn't an issue, as I can wake up at pretty much any point of the day without much trouble.

It's an RTS, yeah. One of the more innovative in existence, lots of crap you can do. You can get by fairly decently without having or memorizing that whole thing, but it helps if you're going after specific weapon loadouts, i.e. ARTILLERY, AHAHAHAHAHAHA. No, heavy arty's not the best strategy -- I couldn't even remotely begin to say which is the best, as I'm not exactly good at the game -- but it's definitely my favorite :P.
I'd contest the viability of artillery. A few mortar pits+Sensor Tower+MG Bunker(s) can keep an area clear for most of the early game. Get a good central position and set up some Ripple Rocket emplacements, and it'll rain rockets(unfortunately, Ripples have a long reload time).

There's other good stategies as well. VTOL bombers can be deadly if the enemy hasn't thought to put multiple AA sites near likely targets(do this yourself ASAP). Nothing like hitting their research or powerplants. Even if there is some AA, but not enough(larger vehicle bodies are probably better, rather than speed), you can still drop bombs on them and cripple their tech or resources. And I doubt many people set up sufficient AA around oil wells, either ;).

Yes, it is in 40 minutes. I've never played WZ2100, so you'd have to ask someone else.

AA is definitely something I usually ignore for most of th'game, but that's a computer-fighting habit, as the comps aren't particularly effective VTOL users. By the time comp VTOLs start getting off the ground, you usually have enough research power to burn through the AA line without much effort and render all their effort a waste of oil. They're pretty crappy as far as target optimization goes, too.

As for game length, it can be pretty short or a slog-fest. Depends on how aggressive the players are.
