Health care?
« on: November 13, 2010, 10:43:05 am »

So, can I have doctors patch me up? My companion has had a broken leg for awhile. I even found a crutch in a troll-groom's lair.

It's sort of sad to see my faithful companion crawling alongside me all the time.

Theres no medical aid - Ive seen some dreadful things, and all you can do is try to make them comfortable.

Hope healthcare appears in one of the updates soon. My awesome speardwarf got bitten by lions and couldn't stand anymore, so he had to retire after coming back to the civ he set out from.

Can you hold a crutch to walk when you cannot stand on one of your legs? I planned to test it but didn't manage to do it yet.

I've heard references that crutchwalking does work in .17, so unless countered, yes.

So... how do you stop something from bleeding? I just took my band of 15-some lackeys and wandered into a dragon's lair, sure I was going to die. Remarkably, I didn't, and while a few of my companions perished before we slew the dragon I managed to avoided taking damage completely... or so I thought. After leaving the lair, I was bombarded with messages that I was melting, and I can't figure out why. It just appears to be my right hand which is melting at the moment, and it is the same hand which is oozing blood, thus preventing me from traveling. I removed and dropped everything that came in contact with my hand(weapon, glove, gauntlets) but it's still melting. It doesn't appear to be on fire from looking at the health screen, but something is obviously wrong with it...

Stop masturbating.

Oh yeah, because you just know I have a dragon fetish  :-\

Isn't there a way to bandage things up though?

I'd love a way to heal wounds.  Two heroes in a row met an early retirement after crippling foot/leg injuries left them without the ability to walk, and a handful of faithful companions had legs broken and feet mangled, much to my chagrin.

Yes, but as a dabbling crutch walker you move as fast as if you were lying down.

I've seen crutches in the general shop, bought a few to carry around just in case. Do you ever find other medical implements there; splints, bandages, etc.?
