The most I remember about the ES series is the Lusty Argonian Maid.

Gotta super bazooka. With one click it fires a spread of five rockets at a cost of five explosive ammo. A powerful weapon indeed, but expensive in ammo and it can blow you up. This will be relevant later.
I'm in the frozen city, so I know that lil' hunter will be showing up soon, the bastard. The longer his fight goes on the worse it will get, so I need something to delete him quick. Spread bazooka can do that, and the wave gun I got in the crystal caves will take care of everything up to that point. I see two of the golden variation of the big robots which fire faster and shoot rockets, but I don't die by using my super bazooka to clear them out. I get the scarier face mutation just to increase the odds I can oneshot lil' hunter.

lil' hunter shows up. I shoot my rockets and they hit a wall, killing me in the explosion.

Always take boiling veins.

Lost the crown. I attacked a portal on island 4 early on because it was right next to my camp. Didn't expect a minimum of three breeders, only found out I'd lost the western wall when the three were coming up my rear with the zest of a porn actor on speed.

I actually killed them, what got me was that I was reduced to about five archers so I went looking for a chest to refill my coffers. No chest, and by the time I was heading back the next wave of greed had spawned and nabbed my crown.

XCOM: Enemy WIthin

Got burned up by the Armored Spider because evidently I can’t bring myself to, you know, not be in the burning liquid of doom.

Rather enjoying the game. Beat the Tower Knight earlier, and it was interesting going from “wtf is this bullshit” adrenaline rush trying to figure out how to kill it, to “oh that’s how you do it” while calmly

Didn’t think I’d get into a Souls game. Had to jiggle my stats a bit but I’ve got two methods of going about things, one with a Claymore smashing things to bits, and a more cautious poke-‘em-from-behind-my-unnecessarily-heavy-shield Wingtip Spear.

Demon’s Souls

Didn’t think I’d get into a Souls game.

One of us. One of us. They only get better from there.

For me I was trudging through the wilderness toward a point of interest when I saw a boar. Then two boars. I started backing away through the trees when ANOTHER boar charges me from the flank. I'm standing there stunned and unable to move, so I can watch as 3 boars becomes 4 boars. I start trying to limp away once the stun wears off, but get charged in succession until I'm reduced to a pile of meat in the middle of the woods somewhere.

Faaaaaaackin’ Firelurker, may it rot somewhere humid and nippy.

Had a few goes at it, decided it was getting on my nerves just that much (and I lost 12k souls rushing down to it and fell to my death) so I used game hints on the PS5.

First tip? Don’t use fire.

I couldn’t have guessed that from the name, or the fact it comes out of fire when you first meet it, or that all it’s attacks are on fire, or that the long way round to the boss arena has lots of enemies that are on fire or come out of lava.

Fuck me sideways how stupid do you think the players are!?

To be fair I am using a very slow weapon to try to kill it, but I have got it down to the last 15% or so of its health bar with it…

Demon’s Souls

Might have screwed myself by not focusing on building fighters early on. Worse, since it took long enough to find a colonizable body, the war with the Martian colony was provoked by time rather than colonization, and I didn't have any of the resources from those colonies to use(on the other hand I don't have anything else to defend). When the Martians attacked, they had a slight advantage of numbers, though I had a technological edge. While I'm winning the battles, the Martians still manage to pop a few of my fighters every time. I have the resources to produce fighters continuously, they're not building fast enough to keep pace with the Martian threat. At this point I can't even build a colony ship to the one place I found uranium, which I need to build laser satellites, which would likely turn the battle around.
