You know, maybe I should get around to playing ME1&2 considering that I bought them both in a steam sale literal years ago.
But then once I finished 2 I'd have to choose between living with an unresolved plot or deal with Origin.

I ended up biting the bullet and dealing with Origin for Mass Effect 3, and personally I found it worth it, especially since the third game was 75% off when I acquired it.

It is not at all frustrating they changed the controls between 1 and 2.

I remember being confused by that on PC.

If I ever do a third run of the whole series I'll just use Mass Effect: Genesis. It's DLC for 2 that lets you create a completed ME1 save by doing a short choose-your-own-adventure comic. If you've already played ME1 once there's not a lot of reason to do it again IMO.

Pecked by a bird and fell to my death off the side of a tree in Click Clock Wood in Banjo-Kazooie.

Falling damage sucks a surprising amount in this game, but I prefer it to the water of Rusty Bucket Bay.

Got killed by a boss. On my back to retrieve my souls, I tangled with a bunch of firebombers. Normally I never had much trouble with these guys, but this time they were perfectly coordinated in their throwing and they burned me to death. Good bye, 7000+ souls, it was nice knowing you.

Am I the only one who dislikes how they added ammo in mass effect 2?

No. The lore in 1 was all "no ammo needed", but the overheating thing was annoying anyway. I think they hand waved it away as replacing overheated magazines or something.

It's one of many "gameplay" "features" I do not miss from ME1. That and sorting through a bottomless pile of Polonium Rounds IIs, Solaris Amp IIs and Kinetic Barrier IIIs.

Frictionless Materials X is all you need. Slap two of them on an assault rifle and never worry about overheating again.

Going through HELIOS One. Been awhile since I did this part. Got surprised and nearly shredded by the automated gun turrets. Took out the securitron easily, then bolted past the turrets' coverage area into the room where I remember their shutoff terminal was. What I didn't remember, and couldn't hear because of the turret fire, was the mines.
