I can actually pretty reliably do counter-bombs in PCB if I'm paying attention, the time lasts about half the length of the death sound as far as I can tell. I think in Scarlet Devil it's almost frame-perfect, and MOF is just a tiny bit more lenient.

PCB also gives you free counter-bombs pretty regularly with the Supernatural Border. I'll intentionally get hit with the border up if the screen's full of bullets and I just don't feel like dealing with it.

And then there's IN, where being Reimu lets you ALWAYS counter bomb, with increased bomb strength to boot.

It was actually a pretty good run so far, I made it all the way to Alice without dying and only lost two lives to her. But then I got cocky and had an utterly atrocious stage 4 where I could not dodge anything. I didn't even make it to the Prismriver Sisters.

The soundtrack has too much plinky-plonky piano stuff for my taste, but Alice's theme is boss and her fight is probably my favorite that I've played.

Subterranean Anti-Santa stole everything from me. Perhaps I sacrificed a few things, people- intentionally of course- thinking to curry favor with my patron, or to make an appeal to the gods. Day by day, being bound to his service drove my crew and me to acts of increasing vileness and desperation, until the terror reached a fever-pitch. One by one, my crew disappeared ashore, went mad and had to be detained or killed, or simply walked into the ocean. At the end, I limped into port at the Fathomking's Hold. Before I could go ashore, drowned men and women emerged from the waters below, some of whom looked familiar. They beckoned me into the ocean, to join them. I accepted their invitation.

I literally could not figure out the trick to Screaming Mantis. I even called all my Codec people (all two of them hahaha mgs4) and still didn't get it. I didn't even get it when Otacon basically handed me the solution.

It seemed like Johnny's sniper rifle thing broke the wires in the cutscene, so I spent a good amount of time looking for that.

Then when Otacon told me to use the syringe, I thought I was somehow supposed to catch Meryl and use the syringe on her, like with Vamp.

Kind of disappointed that they basically reused the puzzle solution from the boss fight immediately previous (not counting RAY). You just have to use the syringe on yourself instead of somebody else. Also, now that I realize it, I'm disappointed in the lack of optional Codec stuff. You can't even call Drebin, Roy or Raiden by noting their frequencies and calling back. There's space for a lot of frequencies too, so unless you're just supposed to call every single frequency to stumble on hidden stuff I have no clue.
