The Geth are finally back, along with all of their pain-in-the-ass units like the Geth Prime, who can infinitely spawn turrets that can't be hacked.

The only way it could have been worse is if the flying rocket drones from the first game were back. They were absent in 2 afaik, but they might show up sometime in the future for this game.

Mass Effect 3.

Died no less than four times fighting Chen. Would have been five, but I had a Supernatural Border when she flew into me during her Immortal Sages' Rumbling. I was probably distracted by the realization that Chen has some absurdly long legs and no knees.


Then I got finished off by a random shotgun fairy right after the first encounter with Alice in the next stage.

Jesus that is probably the most awful decision I've made in all three games.

Legion and Tali are dead, and the entire Quarian race is nuked to shit because they're idiots, stupid stupid idiots. In return, I have.... Geth. An unknown quantity, an entirely new sentient race that has previously done nothing but fuck us over and stand in our way for two and a half games. And they're carrying code that the Reapers wrote inside of them, so it's nice to have all that right next to the Crucible. Fucking Legion you metal piece of shit.

When I cured the genophage on Tuchanka, I actually cried. I didn't think this game could do it twice but god damn.

And I don't have a "restart mission" save, and my last manual save is from the beginning of that play session. So, I guess I'm living with that one...

Mordin, your long time companion from the second game, who has been through basically literal hell with you, dies. The climate dispersal center tower that is used to distribute the cure was preemptively sabotaged to kill the cure. Mordin goes up that tower, which is exploding. He succeeds in stopping the sabotage. He dies saving the Krogan species, allowing them to be able actually reproduce at a more reasonable rate.

Mordin and Eve both died but the genophage was cured.

I have the feeling Mordin dies no matter what, but I don't especially regret Eve dying- definitely not on the level that I regret Tali and Legion. Destroying Maelon's data seemed like the right thing to do at the time, and the genophage was cured anyway.

I miss Mordin. He was the very model of a Salarian scientist.

You can save Mordin if Wreav is clan leader, actually, by using the fact that Wreav is a krogan of the Krogan Wars tradition against them.  You just can't save both Mordin and the krogan species.    Also, Eve's fate has knock-on effects among the krogan during and after the war. If Wreav is clan leader and Eve is dead...
