I DID die to Perfect Freeze, because one projectile was half offscreen right next to me and I didn't notice it.

On Easy, she doesn't fire waves of yellow danmaku directly in front of her, only the icicles. That means she has a wide-open blind spot directly in front of her. You can sit there the entire time and shoot her right in the face.

It's been quite a while, but are you certain you're not thinking of Icicle Fall?  Perfect Freeze is the spell card with a rainbow-colored spray that goes across the screen in a semi-random pattern, freezes, then starts to drift about.  I didn't know it had a single safe spot on any difficulty, much less one as trivial as the one in her first spell card.

Managed to actually use bombs for once[I even pulled a clutch bomb revive from the brink of death] and got all the way to my ancient enemy: KNOIFE MAID. I had her down to basically no health and dodged like a lunatic to find the gaps in her knoifes. Then I gyrated too hard and ran into one and died. Maybe playing this game so early in the morning isn't a good plan.

I've actually seen KNOIFE MAID's attacks enough times to know how to dodge them, which is quite nice. Still can't get the hang of Patchouli's lasers though.

Sorry if this is shitty advice, but what kinds of weapons do you use? They vary so much in terms of usage that there seems to be one to suit pretty much any playstyle. (Greatsword is about getting the most damage from just a couple hits, lances are all about rythm and timing, dual blades can overwhelm the enemy with sheer speed, longswords get more powerful the more you attack, et cetera)

If you've already played the game for a while you probably already know that, but I can't really think of anything else to say at the moment >_<

Man, fuck scythe chariots.

Ok, Persians are OP plz nerf. Scythe chariots are bastards of things. They run straight through your soldiers, knock them over and then run over them again. In addition, they gain health when they deal damage, so if they're on 1HP and run through an archer formation, they're full again before the end of the first charge. And the AI can control tens of them at a time.


The only counter I've found is massing archers on ships, and that brings it's own problems, namely that in ship combat all formations are lost, meaning that the formation HP, DEF and ATK buff is gone. In addition, the enemy can board you, and if they board your all-archer ship with swordsmen, it's game over for the archers. Not to mention at this time the enemy had triremes (which can fit ~100 soldiers) and I only had galleys (~25). Plus ramming. Fuck ramming. Instakill a ship and force everyone on board to die or swim to shore, where they're likely to die from scythe chariots.

Charging down the stairs while bound with a ball and chain?

Apparently! It's the only reason I can think of that would explain how walking down a staircase results in getting brained with an iron ball attached to your leg.
