My save game at the Blade/Claw Brother fight appears to be corrupted; loading it crashes the game. I have to redo the smallest, yet most annoying section of the Crypt again.

In addition, I keep forgetting that that save is corrupted and have to re-open the game whenever I try to load it.

I actually made it to Stage 4 without continuing, which was a rarity even when I was in practice.

However, the boss of stage 4 is actually pretty difficult. All of her bullets are the same color, which makes it hard to see which clumps I can weave between and which clumps to avoid altogether. I don't think I've ever made it past her. At least it's better than I've ever done on Scarlet Devil with a similar no-continues restriction.

Touhou 10: Mountain of Faith.

I tried Touhou again, after weeks of not practicing. It did not go well.

I still can't decipher Marisa's dialogue with Rumia.

R: "Doesn't this look like 'the saint who was crucified'?" (she's making a cross-shaped pose in her portrait)
M: "It looks like humanity finally started using the decimal system."
(misc taunts, boss fight ensues)
M: "I bet she doesn't even have ten fingers."

Yeah, that confuses me too. My take on it is that it looks like she's a schoolteacher teaching children about the decimal system. Regardless of what the joke actually is, this is what I firmly believe.


Knoife maid filled me full of shanks again. Those things go quite fast, despite not being in difficult configurations. At least I managed to get past Stage 4, with no Continues, mostly by powering through Patchouli's Spell Signs with Final Spark at one life left. Eventually maybe I'll figure out how to survive them without bombs like I can Cirno or Hong Meirei

I haven't played that game, but I'd bet money its a pun that makes total sense in Japanese.  Kinda like how there's a certain DBZ character that speaks entirely in puns that don't translate well into English.

This always seems odd to me since I've only ever played 7, where Cirno is the first "boss" and an absolute pushover...  Pretty patterns though.  And sometimes I get overconfident and fancy and die early and restart in shame.

Cirno's the second boss of Scarlet Devil. She has two attacks that really screw me up every time: her regular shotgun attack that happens before her first Spell Card, and "Perfect Freeze" (shoots a ton of bullets, then freezes them and makes them move in different directions and speeds). There's another in-between attack with lasers that's pretty difficult too, but I'm usually able to make it past that one okay.

Perfect Freeze is easy enough. I'd say the hardest part is dodging the initial wave of danmaku. The pattern between freezing and unfreezing is targeted at you, but is often enough open at the center - it's easier to sit still than dodge across the screen even with Cirno sweeping across herself.

Icicle Storm is what usually gets me, if anything. The early shotgun attack forces me to panic more often then I want to admit, too.

Okay i think i have a good one.

My entire fortress of 15 dwarves died *drumroll* to an undead horse hair. all of them ran into it, engaged it in combat with not a single blunt weapon between them and starved or dehydrated to death.

I don't think so (the skin reanimates separately, I believe), but hair should get a bonus for attacking dorfs' eyes if it doesn't have it already.
