I've played Xcom before.  Ive beaten it before.  Ive played the new-fangled one too, as well a at least seen game-play from the others.  totd was easy !
So when I finally got the spare cash and wanted to play a painful game, I bought this one.


I play one mission, zero casualties.  I start a new game, IronMan - Veteran level (cuz Im awesome)


Cue the first ship being full of Mutons.  And cue me splitting the team up to cover two pathways.  And cue 4 mutons being on one path.  And cue them eating two grenades and two shotgun blasts to the face, killing two and mortally wounding one more of my boys.

One thing I instantly miss about this game thus far - The bloody grenade launchers.

Came up to the muton thing-y ship.  Lined up for  breech (really like the flashbangs in this one, and smoke bombs help me feel better about the LOS mechanics), all 8 of us.  We had taken on hit, zero fatalities, and additionally save at least 4 civilians.

-everyone in place?  sniper sniping and rocketman rocketing?  good-
   Opens door
-Oh noes, theres three of them in here!  And worse, I cant get a good sight on them all at once.
   -throws grenade-
   -grenade hits lip of door, bounces back-
   -Mutons retaliate and the reaction shots shred into three of them, killing one-
  -Grenade blows up, killing the other two wounded.

Chrome's not too bad!

Until you install all the plugins and if you never close it, because it seems to store the pages you've been on previously so you can go back to them.

I have at least 6 windows of chrome with between 5-15 tabs each... :c

That's why I stopped using grenades (when you miss with a rifle it's disappointing, when you miss with a grenade it's a disaster, 75% of the time). Also, Androns are unsuppressible, so it's a waste of a flashbang.

Urgh. I mean, I've found that a universal rule of MineZ is that teaming up= living longer. So, what do most people do? Kill on sight.

I need to find a friend that likes MineZ to play with for the benefits without the douchebaggery associated with people going 'Friends? MURDER!'

Tricksters are fragile as heck. Don't ever bother using their melee options outside of the Levin Sword, they can't generally risk much damage in return without Quick Burn / Lucky 7.

I made it all the way to that fucking keycard. You know the one. Motherfucking Doctor Morley couldn't leave the goddamn thing in his fucking office where it would be useful. Anyways, I got there and avoided the Alien. It swept into the room, searched it quickly, then left. I waited for it's thumping footsteps to fade into the distance, then I hop out of the locker and scurry out the door, crouched.

It turns out that the fading of it's footsteps was NOT because it was getting farther away. It had apparently stopped and turned around after about ten paces, because I turned one corner and heard behind me:

Just from what I've heard about that game, I want to play it. Miasmata had a similar thing, only the creature was location-based and wasn't very smart.
