Behold, the pitched battle between Karloman the Ktonian Necromancer and the mishap ghost he summoned!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

... Right. By the rules of assassination attempts, he ran off the map and died because of it. RIP Karloman; you actually made it on the Hall of Fame, which is better than most of my commanders.

Blargh a pirate with just a flipping pistol got lucky headshots on two of my 3 colonists, and didn't even have the decency to stay alive so I could try to recruit him. Note to self, careful shooter is a good trait to have when you have a gun that burstfires, not so much with the starting lee-enfield since it makes it fire slow as shit...

So even in the space-colonising future, Lee Enfields are the world's preferred bolt-action rifle?
That's good because it's one of, like, 3 rifles I can recognise.

Heh. Well, to be fair, they weren't exactly planning on colonizing the place, were they? Maybe they're flying about in a big lovely whatchamawhosits. Ship. Antique ship! Yeah. One of them.

Falling from the clouds dazed, but still coherent enough to use my parachute, I immediately headed due west from my landing position. After sprinting for five minutes through the foggy night, I looked ahead to see tracers light the sky. I found a camp filled with concrete barriers and shacks.

After crouch-running towards the camp, I intended to go into one of the shacks, find some sort of weapon, then leave. Unfortunately one of the other survivors didn't agree with me, and I'm sure that if I hadn't dove into a prone position I would have died. Luckily for me another fully-armed survivor was attracted to the gunfire and took aim at him. I stood up and sprinted for a watchtower, hoping to find some sort of weapon up there, but I was shot at on my way there. I was hit a few times, and I assumed I had another burst of luck, considering he didn't follow. I think at the time he thought I had bled to death.

Waiting a few moments I painfully walked back down the tower to search among the concrete and steel for some medical supplies. After a harrowing 5 minutes of walking 10 paces, stop and listen, repeat, I was finally found by another armed man. I ran out towards the foggy distance hoping that I would be lucky a third time.

I was not lucky.

Checklist of a gun:

Can it throw stuff from one place at another really, really fast?

Can it throw the things at the place you want it to reasonably accurately?

Can the things it throws hurt squishy stuff?

Can it throw more than one of the things?

If your gun meets these criteria, then congratulations!  It'll still kill stuff in the future.  The only reason we've even been developing new guns is that for some reason we want them to shoot more bullets further and faster than the ones before them.  And maybe pierce through stuff that's slightly harder than skin.  We can just change the slug though, so that ain't too bad.  Sort of makes me wish that XCOM games didn't all end in Plasma Weaponry, and just had super armor shredding conventional projectiles for some end-game tier of weaponry.

I guess I can throw that out as a death as well:

Got to the last stage of the game, rushing the temple and whatnot.  I didn't kill every alien before I entered the next room, apparently that was a mistake.  The door to the next area apparently wouldn't open because all of the requirements hadn't been met yet, stayed that way even after I went back and made sure every alien was dead.  I basically soft-locked my game on the last stage.

Friend playing Yoshi on garuda(sp?) valley.  We got into a dodge war before he finally ate me at the edge of the screen.  Unfortunately he was facing away from the middle of the screen and he had taken the version where he fires me from his ass at high speed, instead of plopping me down under him.

Yoshi OP, plz nerf.

Beat one difficult trainer, and suddenly I'm thrown into battle with someone far stronger with a half-dead team and no chance to heal in between. Granted, I took out all but two(one of whom was bullshit, the other far worse) of them.

Worse still is I managed to somehow save during the cutscene between the battles. Thankfully RPGMakerXP keeps backups of savefiles, that almost wrecked the LP.

Well, I was grinding Classic Mode for coins. When I made a discovery.
I had gotten to the Master Hand Battle. Only there was only one path to pick, so I was up against both Hands.
I beat Master Hand in RECORD time. Like, I was convinced for a moment I had bugged the game.

But then Crazy Hand got.... Crazy. His spasms went OVER 9000!!!!..... bad taste, OK, but he went absolutely nuts.

The.... THING that burst out of Crazy Hand like a Chestburster, except for hands, was this shadowy monstrousity that I'd never seen before. The bottom screen identified it as "Master Core", and it took out my first stock easily by throwing Final Destination. I held onto my second stock long enough for it to turn into some sort of demonic Nintendog made out of black fire with a mouth the size of a galaxy.

It kept biting. And biting. I could not manage to get back on the platform. My last stock was lost quickly.

Also edge of screen levels tend to always be prone to throw based cheese.  I know I've won many a FFA in Brawl by standing at the edge of the screen and then grabbing anyone who gets close to me and throwing them back.

You misspelled seance.  Are possessing Draignean?  Are you actually a ghost in the shell? You have to tell us if you are, that's the rule

Haha, that demonic nintendog is only it's second form - it still has three more after that! i assume you were playing at 7.0 Intensity?

Five seconds in to Battling the Fury, I was so busy running and looking around for him I ran straight in to the pit I didn't know was even there.

Mission to protect a trade station from the Borg while resupplying it with resources, paying for and escorting the transports out of pocket, by the way. I clear a path, and get two of the three groups of cargo ships there. I look over to the trade station and see the Borg warp in three Cubes. The station is gone before I can so much as pan the view.

I miss the good old days of swarming a Borg Tactical Hypercube with the Phoenix ships as the Romulans. If you die on the way to them, then black hole time!

If you get to them, then it's also black hole time!

Fuck the universe, fuck the Borg.

Sincerely,
