A fight with a pirate scout in the middle of an asteroid field took a turn for the worst when our shield got damaged. Stray asteroids starting pelting and damaging our ship, one of which damaged our sensors. We took the pirate ship out fast and made a jump out of the asteroids as soon as possible. After getting to the next spot, the crew went searching through the ship to see what was damaged.

There was fire everywhere. The medbay was unpowered and full of fire. All three of the crew died trying to put out the blaze and get the medbay back to working. Welp, there goes one Kestrel.

So, it turns out mudmen can just straight up kill you regardless of how much health you have. They can do this instant-death move at any time in the fight, including the frame after they show up. On the plus side, I didn't game over because I have learned how to stockpile lives like a fiend.

I don't know who at Spooky Squids Games made Dream 4, Chapter 2, but they are sadistic and evil.

Met my first proper dragon. I was level 19 or 20, can't remember, and the dragon 23. Bronze difficulty and I was used to facing enemies higher my level so sure, I can take him out, I said to myself. I even had one essential companion to act as a meat-shield/distraction. And I've faced some smaller drakes before, this is just a bigger lizard.
What could possibly go wrong?

Turns out, dragons in this game are actually quite the proper dragons.

Stomped down Anima using Shiva, then Seymour proceeded to one-shot Shiva, then start one-shotting party members faster than I could raise them.

And there goes my stealth cruiser type C game. Stupid 4 rockmen boarders against my zoltan and humans. And their 4 hull damage shield piercing missiles. Normally wouldn't have been a problem, but I had a cloning bay instead of a medbay, so I couldn't deal with boarders like I normally do[Put everyone in the medbay and kill the boarders while being healed]. Plus the boarders started in my drone control room, which was powering the shield drone that I was using to block their missiles. Why is the AI so smart all of a sudden?
