Took one hit too many from a swarm of miscellaneous enemies just as I hit 'R' to teleport to safety. Lost my life... and my pimpin' purple platemail.
The perils of living dangerously, I guess. :'(

Playing a modded-to-heck DF, I decide to find the home of the last great megabeast and kill him with a dragonborn.

The game abruptly core dumps, slaying all my recent actions.

Time to get rid of most of my modded races!

Oh wait, that wasn't last time.

In Cataclysm DDA, I played a plain survivor with intolerances to anything but fruit or veggies and made him a pacifist, in order to play a hippie.

Everything went well until a moose mauled me as I stepped out of my car in the morning.

Seriously, do it. Unless you're doing a min-percent run, the Long Beam should always be acquired. It's not worth an extra Missile tank.

On-topic: booted up Diablo III after months of ignoring it. Discovered that my squishy Demon Hunter really shouldn't be standing in exploding electric pulses. I probably should've moved, but lack of practice meant I underestimated the burst potential.

We may have won the battle, but at what cost? Ursula, our beloved Panzer III Ausf. H, and my favorite Panzer has been mercilessly murdered by the Americans. She was far too young to die in such a way.

Not death in the true sense, but I was level 6, wearing mithral armor (+3 combat bonus). By all rights, I should have been able to beat the Gazebo, but at that moment my brother played the Duck of Doom. I had no cards in my hand to counter this, and this bumped my combat strength to just under the monster's level. Bad stuff? Lose 3 levels. In a single moment of badass munchkinnery, my brother effectively slew all chances of my victory, dropping me from level 6 to level 1.

Walk into town, start moving through all the houses looking for expert trainers, checking the shops for neat items, the usual. I come across a fountain, well they usually give nice bonuses to stats why not this time?

Have one of my party drink from it, +30 temp bonus to spell resistance! Neat! Second guy has a drink... wait... why are their portraits showing stone statues-OW WHAT JUST HIT ME? Oh hi werewolf that just spawned out of nowhere.

Suffice to say, with my two fighters petrified I ran into the temple just behind, intending to cure them. 2500 gold each for a cure? Nah... reload.

This game loves chucking monsters at you from nowhere. Like the time I went behind an altar in a dungeon. Turned around and the entire huge room was suddenly filled with skeletons, that prompted me to buy a fireball spell.

My Devastator-class cruiser a little too close to one of those Zolon destroyers. And I thought one-shotting a Hegemony frigate was something, goddamn

My laser turret was damaged, so I picked it up and placed it back down to fix it(somehow that works). Took two steps away before discovering that they don't always mark you as a friendly.
