being poison resistant, I chanced eating mushrooms.

I found a suprisingly ideal house on the edge of a town, isolated by a few abandoned storefronts and next to a trap field.  Kool, just bait the few zombies inside and around into the bear traps. ya?

Well,  tge hallucinations kicked in while I was baiting, and a landmine shredded my legs.  Tgen, a hulk appeared.  I prep to fight it by lighting a fire on the far side of the shotgun trap.  Its not real.  kool, but thems no joke.

Another appears as Im walking into the house.  Pfffpt, cmon game thats getting old.  So were the walls, because it felt it fit to tear them down.

The enemy Priest coins out a Lightwell on turn 1. I respond with a Raptor, and he then drops a Lightwarden on turn 2 and Power Word: Shields it. I'm now facing a 3/4 and a 0/5 with only 3 damage on the board. The smart move would've been Power Word: Pain immediately on the Warden... but I didn't recognize the threat.

Three turns later, I explode to an 11/4 Lightwarden and a 5/5 Lightwell. I really need to start recognizing scary combos before they kill me.  :o

I like you.

I had it worse with that mission, I had Hannah die literally a tile away from the check point because I misread the range on the magical artilary. Here's a hint

Holy crap, someone else has heard of this game.  I ... never thought about teleport stones ... A very welcome tip!  Thanks!  Currently trying to level up Suina and Crayl (NG+) because the arena gauntlet stages have been kicking my ass.

Got together a group of 6 brave men(I wanted 10, but couldn't find that many), and led them through the woods to a(n) Njerpez camp. I equipped all of them with a javelin and stone axe, though most did probably have better weapons.

We sneak close to the nearest kota, before one of the sentries spotted our group. "Attack, Juhani! Attack!" I called to the man nearest to me. Despite a brave attempt, we ended up being scattered quickly. Although two of my men managed to take down and kill one of the Njerpez, I ended up fencing with axes against two, my splitting axe against one with a woodsman's axe and the other a handaxe, before one with a club started striking me from behind.

Thinking I had disabled the one with a handaxe, I turn to the clubber. After trading a few blows, I recieve a handaxe from behind. An axestrike to my hip sends me to the ground, but luckily, they think me out of the fight and leave me to battle my companions.

Through the blinding pain, I take a moment to survey what I can of the battlefield. It's not going well. Poor Aino, the old bastard, lost an eye, and a few other guys were hurt. We killed one Njerpez and badly wounder another that I could see, but there were too many.

Ahead, I see one Njerpez standing atop a hill, surveying the battle as I am. Even though I am down and hurt, the battle certainly lost, I'm not done. I take one of my remaining stone axes and send it through the air. Although my pain and wounds interfere with my aim, the axe, as if carried by the spirits themselves, strikes true, cleaving my enemy's skull, killing him in an instant.

Unfortunately, this draws the attention of the other Njerpez, clearly infuriated that they ignored me, causing the easily preventable loss of one of their own. Stopping first to finish off Miko(I don't think it was spelled that, but I forgot exactly what his name was), they swarm over me. Despite a brave attempt, I'm overwhelmed, my pain drawing me from consciousness. I'm still alive when I wake up, but not for long. A last-ditch axe-throw(failure) is met with the rest of them running me through. I die with the sounds of a lost battle in my ears.

Welp my mage deck finally got defeated. It is the first deck I've ever made, and it's been more successful than all the others since. 0 losses to it's name, and I managed to get down to tier 15 with it, then I was destroyed by a priest. Then a warlock. Then a mage. 0 losses up until that point. All of my rage.

EDIT: Make that six losses. I blame rush down decks.

"Spriggans should be super easy with fire magic," I thought.

"Oh wait, the bulk of their damage comes from that magic poison thing they do and I'm under the Apprentice Stone, which makes me take double damage from magic," I realized.

I died faster than I used to on my old melee character.

Decided to melee Crazy Yiuf. Forgot about the quarterstaff of chaos the bastard always carried. Poisoned, slowed, then paralysed. Then dead.

Amazingly, managed to raise a skeletal knight despite my previous bad luck with the necromancy based troops in general. Go into a battle with some deserters, easy as cake at this point in the game, and...

An undead has broken free of your control!

Being the somewhat squishy undead conjurer that I am, standing next to the largely powerful skeletal knight who flings fireballs right as he broke from my control was bad luck.

Not my most recent but only a couple of deaths ago.

Last objective on the last map of the campaign. If we hold the line here reinforcements will arrive and we will counterattack, pushing the Russian forces out of Stalingrad, the heart of the Russian people will be broken, and we will win the Eastern front. With our forces  holed up in an old factory, I sprint across the cluttered floor trying to track down the roaring sound of a T34. I spot it through a hole in the wall, but there is infantry nearby so I back off and pull out my pistol. A grenade comes flying in through the crack, landing neatly about a meter away. I could have ran, I could have survived the grenade, but instead I pull out a satchel and try and run up to the crack and throw it at the tank. I pull the pin and the grenade explodes beneath my feet.

Cue a teamkill and one dead russian about ten seconds later. No tank dead though, but I got it later :P

Draeni Paladin was having trouble fighting a boss, so I hopped over and pulled the thing off him, then mostly solo killed it. He responds to this by noticing that I'm injured, wiggling around a bit, then killing me.

That was my experience too. The first few ranks are filled with completely incompetent players, and people who have as few cards as yourself.

Once I hit rank ~15 and realized my almost-completely-basic decks were facing 100% gold decks, I knew I was in for a few losses.  :'(
