Monster Girl Quest. Seriously, by the time you get out of her initial bind, more than half your HP is gone, and you don't gain Flail Wildly until it's too late to beat her.
At least Ilias' comments during the Evaluation Meeting about losing the very first battle are funny.

Got my ankle bitten by a crawler zombie. Spent the next couple days in doors watching my health deteriorate. Dropped off all my gear for the next poor sod to play in that world, stripped down to my skivves and went for a nice run through downtown West Point, KY. Broke a window to get inside the school (for lulz), cut myself and bled out in a dark room surrounded by yombies. Good times.

In the space of one difficulty level, the Prophet of Regret went from"braindead, mind-numbingly easy" to "HOLY FUCK I MIGHT ACTUALLY DIE IN REAL LIFE".

Halo 2. I should have been playing on Heroic from the very beginning, it's a much better game in so many ways.

Going back to the Seyda Neen to finish a quest I didn't start out on, and do a bit of exploring for the dead tax collector guy. Find some old tombs that I don't remember, and figure to myself "Oh, this should be easy enough, they're right next to the starter town."

The first tomb was a cake walk; shank a ghost while sneaking and good to go. After dodging multiple demons from hell (and considering removing a mod that appears to have caused this), I find three Greater Bonewalkers inhabiting the next one. While they didn't actually kill me, they used Damage Strength/Endurance enough that I had 15 health, no ability to move due to overencumbrance, and had to reload after killing them due to the inability to attempt Resting (enemies nearby) or having any ingredients to create the respective Restore attribute potions.

Prior to that, I had gone to do a quest in Vivec and got sidetracked by another one in the Foreign Quarter where you grab some papers for one of the blacksmiths. Go to the other blacksmith's place, and can't quite find a good spot to pick the lock without being seen, so after a few attempts leading up to a whopping 13 gold bounty and success, I walk over to the other guy and turn in the quest, getting a mediocre weapon that I have no skill to use. Figuring I want to get rid of this otherwise miniscule bounty, I talk to the Ordinator sitting next to him and go to pay my fine, then realize I have my stolen Grandmaster Mortar and Pestle in my inventory.

Attempting to Resist Arrest was met with extreme prejudice, and I remembered afterward that there wasn't any way I could have stopped him from fighting long enough to drop the thing and pay the bounty, unlike later games which generally give you the option to put away your weapon and surrender if your bounty was low enough. I really need to fence it and buy it back again, once I get the gold. Relearning old games is fun.

The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind.

The Creature Pack 1.1 seems to have added lots of wildlife outside of the city walls. There were Netches, Bull Netches, Nix Hounds, and Young/Regular/Blighted Cliff Racers in the dozens(only slightly exaggerating), all outside of Seyda Neen. While it does make things a little more interesting, they could have toned down the number of Goddamned Bats showing up outside a starter town, Level 8 or not.



On the plus side, most non-blighted/otherwise aggressive wildlife doesn't go out of its way to attack me, so slaughtering my way single file through a bunch of annoying but not deadly creatures is a good way to grind stats.

Escorting this lovely priest lady carrying a glass (I think?) statue up this perilous, monster-filled, magical-artillery-shooting cliffside to visit a church.  Who the hell built a church here?

Anyway, I was clearing out flying harpies and angels left and right, and also trying to throw some squishy-looking units in the front lines to draw the magical artillery fire.  Got so focused on getting everyone up near the artillery range to try and draw fire from my fragile escort (who was an NPC, and didn't understand the concept of hanging back) that I completely forgot about the angels that were teleporting in at the bottom of the map and who promptly wandered over and captured my home base, resulting in me losing automatically. 

Fucking teleporting angels.

Have Kohakuren teleport Hannah onto the the second "block" on the map, where the Harpies spawn. She won't be able to move anywhere and you can instantly mover her to the check point when you capture it if you have a teleport stone.

I decided to actually try to git gud at Dark Souls after cheesing Capra with fire bombs. Managed to kill the Headless statue demon thing and some crystal golem. Then got one shotted by some gout of water from something off-screen.
