Dear Freed Marine;

I love that you are so tough.  I like that you can teleport.  I like that you can seemingly switch weapons.  I like that you punch mamy, many faces.  However, when you warch me zip up in a environmental suit, don some low light googles, and charge at a group of humanoids, I dont expect you to teleport in front of me, start zipping around so I cant tell which bright green glib is you, and then yell at me for  shooting you.  Now Im dead and Earth is Rued.  I try not to blow your innerds out and this is what I get.  And dont think I didnt see you fire a rocket at a pinky standing right beside me.  that hurt.

Kind of hard to do that with a crippled leg. Hence the Med-X and Stimpacks.

I'd made a Minotaur Fighter of Zin who was amazingly successful for my standards. I had two randart rings, one of which gave rPois+ and SInv, and the other one gave a good slaying bonus, a randart +10, +7 staff, a backup +9,+9 flail with another rank of rPois, and some artifact plate armor that did nothing but have a +10 enchantment and a small stealth boost that came into play, oh, never.
I had cleared the lair, the Mines, and all but the final floor of the Swamp while barely breaking a sweat, and so I went into the Snake Pits. I chopped and hacked my way into Snake pretty easily, with rPois++, and I encountered Lamia. I then commited the cardinal sin of Roguelikes:
I got confident.
Rather than run at the sight of the words "Extremely Dangerous" on her description, I sat there like a moron, chugged a few pots, charged, and god IOOD'd to a nice, delicious pile of naga-food. YASD.

EDIT: Started up a new game with the same race/class. I butchered a couple hobgoblins and bats, and then OH HEY OUT OF DEPTH GNOLL PACK!

Not really a death, as the city was still intact, but setting the military to "Automatically defend" while having 4 horse regiments, 2 infantry units granted by Ares himself, and 2 bow regiments courtesy of Artemis didn't do anything. The enemy invaders beelined toward my walled off and tower ridden, but otherwise undefended palace, broke through the walls, and tore it down, causing me to have to pay a meager 1000 drachmas yearly to the invading party.

I don't remember the AI being so stupid in this game.

Zeus: Master of Olympus, first campaign. Been in a old game/turn based strategy/city builder mood lately.

I ended up making the guy my vassal shortly after, so he paid me tribute instead, but that was a humiliating defeat since I couldn't turn the auto defend AI off quickly enough to rally my soldiers before I was overrun.

E4M1:  I hate you.  The first two levels of E4 are tge hardest, imo, in the series.  Not enough health, or ammo.  Does not help that my chosen difficulty is superbad. . .

Doom, brutal doom mod

In the new and unbalanced 'boss battle' we were getting the upper hand.

I was flying above enemy just out of range, to distract and split them up. Teammates at base were making short order of whoever get bored at shooting me for nothing and brake off the engagement.

I took a couple shoot, while diving to finish up damaged robots, leaving some gap in the armour, just below the helium blocks but away from the truster core.

While battle was raging enemy was pushing more and more near the base, so I had to get a more active role, shooting off robots endangering my companions.

I got shot a bit more and lost quite some buoyancy, so I went back to base to join the shooting line for the last stand. Eventually we killed all but one enemy.

He finished off all my heavily damaged companions, while out of reach of my weapons.

I did not engage in time to defend. Only me and him were left, and he was very damaged, with just one weapon in working condition. I had no front armour being a flyer. So I waited him closing up, lining the weapons for the killing shoot.

I fired.

I missed.

Grrrrrr...
I had a VERY succesful Gargoyle Fighter under TSO, and I had two runes. I decided I'd clear out the rest of the dungeon before I finished off the Vaults and got the final rune I needed. I was chopping my way through the draconion horde at the entrance to Zot pretty handily, until I accidentally targeted a confused dragon and hit "yes" like an idiot. Cue TSO cancelling my Halo, Divine Shield which had probably saved me from tons of blows, my two angels and a daeva, and my Cleansing Flame ability, the spam of which cut down the horde to a reasonable size. I tried my last teleport scroll, only to pop up next to a fire giant, several yaktaurs, and a tengu warrior.
