Yep, it was pearl. What I ended up doing was feeding Palkia oran berries (Out of potions, Hehe) to get its health back up to a point where dragon rush couldn't 1-hit KO Palkia. It worked, and I proceeded to tear her a new one with special rend.

But then I learned that her Lucario knew dragon pulse, the hard way. But I still ended up winning.

Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup

Kobold Berserkers can actually be pretty effective. Walking in on 6 orcs and 2 wizards was not a good move, however, and I berserked too early, lost the zerk rage after killing one wizard while the others sneaked around and flanked me, and crippled myself with the exhaustion and slowness that berserking inflicts after a rage. Cue the panic of drinking unidentified potions and reading scrolls.

On the bright side, I managed to sprout a pair of horns before I died. Thanks potion of mutation, that was exactly what I needed.

Her Garchomp is absolutely trivial if you get yourself a Mamoswine and teach it Ice Shard. 4x priority move anyone with STAB? Power 40 x 4 x 1.5 = 240? Equivalent to using Explosion on it, almost?

The demons kept coming as the brave Ian McTaggart continued shooting. Bam, bam, bam! He tossed his pistol into the air as it ran out of ammunition, and grabbed the one from his belt in the same instant (Juggler trait is awesome!). The two hell hounds were down, but our hero was running a bit low on health. It should be enough to survive at least a couple hits, and he could apply a medkit if really needed. After all, if he beat the arena, a healing powerup would drop as a reward, anyways.

Oh. A Cacodemon. No big deal. Except for the fact that they shoot painful exploding pellets. Ow. The end of Ian McTaggart.
